All faculty members of Final Year and Third Year are hereby informed that CAT- I has
been scheduled on 30th & 31st Aug 2021. In this regard, you are requested to mail two sets of
CAT- I Question Paper with model answers of respective course(s) till 27th Aug 2021. Please
follow CO mapped question paper format.

The time table and Question paper format is attached here with.

Please cooperate and follow the deadline strictly for smooth functioning of SGU-CAT-I
examination.

Instructions for Paper Setters

1. The question paper will be set strictly in accordance with the format specified in MS Word.

Please do not try to change the format settings with respect to font, justification, spacing
etc. You are requested to only fill in the blanks in tabular form and later the borders should
set to none at the time of submission. Al instructions should also deleted while submission.
2. It is mandatory to submit full solution on A4 size paper along with marking scheme with
distribution of marks for various steps of answers in case of numerical problems and in case
of descriptive type questions, major points to be highlighted with marks for every question
in the set of question paper.
3. All questions are to be set considering the Course Outcomes (COs) and expected levels
from Bloom’s Taxanomy. COs are to be indicated against the question No for mapping
purpose.
4. Paper setting shall be strictly as per the syllabus of the course.
5. Diagrams should be neat and clearly visible with minute details and should be preferably
drawn in black inked pen or in software. While drawing the diagrams, paper setter can use
MS-Word, MS-Visio, Auto CAD software for better quality figures. Figure number shall be
written at the bottom of the figure with number specifying question and sub question
number like Fig. 3b. The figure number must be cited in the question e.g. Find the CG of
composite lamina as shown in Fig. 3b.
6. It is required to specify Codes, Tables, Data Book, and Calculator appropriately as per the
requirement of the course in the instructions to students.
7. For CATs please try to accommodate the question paper in one single page back to back.
8. Attention to be paid towards the typing of names of scientists, units of measurements etc.
e.g. Newton, Kelvin, Lami has to be written with their names’ first letter capital. While
writing units, m in meter shall be small, kg in kilogram must be written in small, kN shall
be written with small k and capital N.

10. Please pay attention while typing program, school, department, course code, course title,
semester, day and date of examination, type of examination, duration and maximum marks.
