Ports that are available to be aggregated are a set of independent 1+0 ports, or a set
of ports specified to the same GRP.
Distribution Mode
Packet Layer: Mode to aggregate bands of multiple Ether ports to one logical
port, then to distribute to per Ether frame, as the Link Aggregation
of Packet function. Refer to "Link Aggregation section".
Physical Layer: Mode to aggregate bands of multiple Radio ports to one logical
port, then to fragment Ether frames according to the bands to

iPASOLINK supports the three Ethernet Service Types (E-Line, E-LAN and E-TREE) defined
by Metro Ethernet Forum(MEF).
4.2 E-Line
E-Line is the Point-to-Point Connection type, which requires to configure the
VLAN ID to be connected between two ports.
-Easy Setup
*2: In the case the Port type is set to Trunk/S-Trunk, Tunnel L2 Protocol will be fixed Disable.
-Provisioning
NOTE: There are no restrictions to set up, for combinations of UNI and NNI/UNI Ports.
4.3 E-LAN
E-LAN is Multipoint-to-Multipoint Connection, which requires to configure the
VLAN Ids to be connected some ports.
-Easy Setup
-Provisioning
NOTE: There are no restrictions to set up, for combinations of UNI and NNI/UNI Ports.
4.4 E-TREE
E-TREE is the Point to Multipoint connection, which requires to configure the
VLAN ID to be connected between multiple ports.
Easy Setup cannot fully set the E-TREE. The setups should be proceeded as shown
below:
1. E-LAN Setting
Set up E-LAN following the steps previously provided.
*Specify one port to NNI/UNI Port only.
4.5 FDB
iPASOLINK has FDB (Forwarding Data Base) function, which enables to learn the
Source MAC Address dynamically per Port or VLAN ID. It also has the Age Out
function that automatically discards frames after the specific period if the learned
FDB does not receive frames again with the specific Source MAC Address, or with
the specific Destination MAC Address.
To enable/disable the Age Out function, to modify the Age Out period, to configure
the maximum number of learning, to register Static FDB are available. Limiting the
number of learning can restrict the number of connecting hosts, which allows to
reduce the load to the network.
After reaching the limited number of learning, if it still receives the frames to learn,
the following mode will apply:
Forwarding Mode
In this mode, frames are forwarded according to their Destination MAC Addresses. This
mode can be specified when the restriction is set per equipment or per VLAN.
Discard Mode
In this mode, frames are discarded regardless of their Destination MAC Addresses. This
mode can be specified when the restriction is set per equipment, per port or per VLAN.
NOTE: When the restriction is set per Port, the mode is fixed to Discard Mode.
-Provisioning
4.6 QoS
As the Quality of Service (QoS) functions, Classify, Ingress QoS (Policing), Port
QoS (Mapping, Queuing, Scheduling, Shaper), and Broadcast Storm Control can be
adjusted. By combinations of these functions, priority controls for traffic in detail are
available. In addition, as the Congestion Control functions, Flow Control function is
implemented to notify Ingress Port if the Buffer Almost Full is detected at Egress Port.

DROP
In this mode, internal priority levels are mapped per equipment according to the
input frame’s Priority Field value. The Priority Field at the head of the input frame is
referred. Following Priority Fields can be identified:
- VLAN Tag Priority (CoS)
- IPv4 Precedence
- IPv4 DSCP
- IPv6 DSCP
- MPLS EXP
In this mode, internal priority levels within the equipment are mapped per port
according to the input frame’s Priority Field value. The Priority Fields of IP Frames
that are encapsulated by VLAN Tags can be referred. Port Based QoS Mode has the
following classification modes:
- Port Priority within the equipment is determined per Port.
- CoS (S-Tag) Input frame’s S-Tag Priority (CoS) value applies to the priority within
the equipment.
*: This setting is available in 802.1ad mode only.
*: Tag Priority values and mappings of priority within the equipment
cannot be modified.
- CoS (C-Tag) Input frame’s C-Tag Priority (CoS) value applies to the priority within
the equipment.
*: Tag Priority values and mappings of priority within the equipment
cannot be modified.
- IPv4/v6 DSCP Input frame’s DSCP value applies to priority within the equipment.
DSCP values and mappings of priority within the equipment can be
modified.
In this mode, internal priority levels are mapped per equipment according to the
input frame’s VLAN ID value.
- Marks the incoming traffic below the Committed Information Rate (CIR) to
green.
- Marks the incoming traffic beyond the Excess Information Rate (EIR) to red, then
discard it.
- Marks the incoming traffic between the CIR-EIR to yellow, then discard it on
priority basis at the egress side.
- Settings for Committed Burst Size (CBS) and Excess Burst Size (EBS) are
available to tolerate the traffic burst. Traffic within either the Burst Size is marked
to green and yellow respectively.

Dying Gasp This function notifies to the contiguous equipment if the equipment
restarting, Link OAM function is disabled, line closing, etc. occurs.
Critical Event This function notifies to the contiguous equipment if a failure occurs in
the equipment.
*When the Link Loss Forwarding conjunction function is enabled
(OAM send port setting), it is able to notify of Radio failure to the
contiguous equipment.
Link Fault This function notifies to the contiguous equipment if a link failure
(LOS, etc.) is detected in the received side equipment. iPASOLINK
supports receiving the Link Fault message only.
Remote Loopback This function performs loopback for the frames at the Passive Mode
side. Looped back frames are discarded in Active Mode side. Remote
Loopback control OAMPDU of IEEE802.3ah is terminated to Active
Mode side and Passive Mode side each other.
By confirming the send/receive RMON counters of the loopback port,
normality in the physical link can be confirmed.

4.13 STP/RSTP
iPASOLINK provides Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) function, which,
complies with IEEE 802.1w. iPASOLINK can connect with any equipment which
supports Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) function because RSTP is compatible with
STP function, which is specified in IEEE 802.1D.
STP/RSTP avoids looping of a network by using BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit)
frame. In RSTP, protocol communications of Proposal and Agreement are executed,
then Root Bridge and Designated Port (DP) are immediately decided.
In normal operation, looping is avoided because Alternate Port (AP) and Backup
Port (BP) are become to Discard state. When any failure is detected, communication
route is switched over because AP is transited to Root Port (RP) and BP is transited
to DP.

4.14 MSTP
iPASOLINK provides Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) function, which,
complies with IEEE 802.1s. MSTP processes multiple VLANs in units of Multiple
Spanning Tree Instance (MSTI), and consists of one Internal Spanning Tree (IST)
and multiple MSTIs.
Assembly of switches that have same MST Configuration is called “Region.” IST
exists across the Region.
iPASOLINK can connect with any equipment which supports STP/RSTP function
because MSTP is compatible with STP/RSTP function due to IST.
MSTP also avoids looping of a network by using BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data
Unit) frame as same as STP/RSTP.

4.15 Mirroring
In iPASOLINK provides Mirroring function as a purpose of Traffic Monitoring.
Failure point can be located states by Monitoring when a network failure, etc. occurs.

Operation Manual.
The settable TDM paths are the following three kinds using Easy Setup, and Cross
Connect only with E1 signal basis can be set. For procedure for STM-1 signal basis
and other cross interface (e.g. in the case connecting E1 interface and
STM-1-channelized interface), refer to the procedure not using Easy Setup (item
8.1.2).

-Easy Setup-
In the case not using Easy Setup, registering Interface Card is necessary for XC
setting before. Next, though the procedures are in the order of E1 Ch Usage and
STM-1 Port Usage Setting, these can be performed after the Cross Connect setting.
When using the MODEM Card as XC terminal points, assign E1/STM-1 Mapping
for the target MODEM before Cross Connect setting.

5.4 SNCP
This section describes the settings for SNCP Path.
As a setting of the whole network, set cross connection to each Node as shown in
the figure below.
Because SNCP path cannot be set by using Easy Setup, set with a procedure in this
section.
Cross Connect
Work path
Node 1 Node 4
Node 2
Node 3
The SNCP setting procedure is basically similar to the ordinary Cross Connect,
however checking "Protection" and selecting two interfaces for setting protection
are required at the terminal points where SNCP is configured. In the LCT setting
window, upper-selected interface becomes Work Path (Default Online), and
lower-selected interface becomes Protection Path (Default Offline).
Note: The SNCP function is not supported on Radio interfaces with 1+1 setting.
Check
Work path
Protection path
The SNCP setting has no functional difference even if its XC terminal point is set
to Edge A or Edge B. However, both A and B can not be configured for SNCP
simultaneously.
When setting cross connect including SNCP, follow the procedure below.
5.5 APS
This section describes procedures for APS setting.
There are following two kinds of configuration of STM-1 Section configuring APS.
APS inside Card: Switch group is configured by Port1 and Port2 in the same STM-1
Card.
APS between Cards: Switch group is configured by each Port1 and each Port2 between
different STM-1 Cards.
APS inside Card can be set for both STM-1 (Channelized) and STM-1 (Through),
meanwhile APS between Cards can be set only for STM-1 (Through).
Only APS inside Card by Channelized STM-1 can be set by Easy Setup. Refer to 8.6.1
for this procedure.
APS inside Card by Through mode STM-1 and APS between Cards can be set by
referring to the procedure (8.6.2) without using Easy Setup.
APS configuration settable with Easy Setup procedure is as shown below: For
setting other configuration (APS configured with Through mode STM-1), refer to
the procedure not using Easy Setup (8.6.2).

-Easy Setup-
When not using Easy Setup, registering is required for Interface Card that Cross
Connect setting is to be performed before. Ch usage of E1 and Port usage of
STM-1 can be set either before or after the XC registration. However, in the case
MODEM is used for XC terminal point, setting is required so that the E1/STM-1
Mapping is assigned to the target MODEM before Cross Connect setting.

This mode is to synchronize the Equipment Clock with the MODEM (Radio)
Clock. Select this mode for the Slave side on Radio-to-Radio connection. Select the
Line CLK (MODEM) as a Timing Source after MODEM settings. For details of the
MODEM settings, refer to Radio Setup.
6.3.6 Sync-E
This mode is to synchronize the Equipment Clock with the Ethernet (Sync-E). By
enabling the Sync-E function on ETH Port, Sync-E Clock can be selected. Sync-E
function can be set to more than one Port on GbE-A Card for the Timing Source,
one port per Card can be selected. Select the Sync-E Port as a Timing Source after
Sync-E settings.
NOTE:
An electric SFP port and the ETH port which established 10M Speed and 100M half
duplex cannot select as the Sync-E.
6.3.8 Ext in
iPASOLINK can use the external clock input of 2.048 MHz or 2.048 Mbps as a
Timing Source. Select EXT CLK as a Timing Source after the external clock
condition settings by Ext Clock Setting option window.
When the same Timing Sources are selected from the Equipment Clock Setting
option and EXT CLK Out SEL option, iPASOLINK bypasses the Timing Source
within the equipment, then to put it out.
Following are the examples of clock outputs when Equipment Clock Setting
Option selects Line CLK (E1):
Table 6-4 When Line CLK (E1) is Set to Equipment Clock Setting
iPASOLINK200:
iPASOLINK200 selects the Timing Source according to the internal priority level
converted from based on the SSM QL-Level defined in ITU-T G.704. When Sync-E
is selected as a Timing Source, Sync-E is always treated as the highest priority
because ESMC (Ethernet Synchronization Message Channel) function is not
supported.
iPASOLINK400, 400A and 1000 can select two Timing Source switching
mode.(PL Mode and QL Mode)
