Read first the literature given below. After reading, be able to tell its geographic origin.
1.Based on the definitions of myths, legends, and folktales
given earlier, what kind of story is The Tacay Flower? The story of Tacay Flower is an example of a legend because it elucidates the origin of a specific thing in nature such as mountains, fruits, flowers (Tacay Flower), etc.
2. What is its geographic origin? Where is its setting?
The geographic origin of the story was in Camarines Sur, while the setting of the story was in Lake Bato.
3. What do you think is the worldview that The Tacay
Flower tells us about heroes and mortals? (A worldview is a personal philosophy of life, a way of looking at things and the world as a whole.) In my own opinion, the worldview of the story The Tacay Flower is all about love, sacrifice, and weaknesses. The story makes me realized that we tend to sacrifice our life and happiness for the people we love just like what happened in the story. We sacrifice our life not only for our partners or loved ones, some people, like our national heroes, surrender their lives for the sake of our county. I also discover that all beings in the world have different kinds of weaknesses. Just like what happened in the story, the female leading character (Tacay) owns an immunity in thunder, but when she learns to love someone (served that as her weakness), she received a tremendous consequence that serve as her greatest downfall despite the immunity that she had.
