PREFACE

As a part of MBA curriculam and in order to gain practical


knowledge in the field of magement ,we are required to make a
report on study of crop cultivation of banana in jalgaon region
/opportunities for export in gulf countries the basic objective
behind doing this project report is to get knowledge tools of
different tools of cultivation and export
the subject of cultivation and export of banana In this project
report we have included various concepts, effects and implications
regarding cultivation and export of banana
Doing this project report helped us to enhance our knowlwdge
regarding the work in to from jalgaon region. We doing
undergo many experiences related with our topic
concepts.through the report we came to know about importance
of team work and role of devotion towords the work
EXECUTIVE SAMMARY

potential of banana in jalgaon region This is an attempt to


know how the therios can be applied to practical situation .as a
student of MBA it is part of study for everyone to undergo
research project in our institute so for this purpose, we got the
opportunity to work on study of crop cultivation of banana in
jalgaon region /opportunites for export in gulf countries

In the first part of thr project, the genral information of the


industry has been collected. Information is gatherd through the
primary and secondary sources as well

In the second part of the report, contain the specialized subject


study. Objective of the project is the is get to know the crop
cultivation and export

MOTIVATION AND OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

Jalgaon region is best known for its cultivation and production


on banana and making of its byproduct and value added product
.wheather and soil condition are susceptible for the cultivation of
banana, and also most of the transportion facilities are available
for export of banana so,our main objective is to study in which
way do farmer cultivate banana and what are the potential
qualities are required, an opportunites for export available in
gulf countries
DATA COLLECTION AND WORKING

To collect the data about cultivation and export of banana we


collected the information both primary and secondary sources
In primary sources for the collection of data we prepard a suitable
questionair on google forms and coolected the responces by
circulating it among farmes, marketing personals, export pesonals
For the secondary data collection we referred to the website
www.APEDA.com ,and various other sites and also published
books and annuls by various co oopratives societies etc .

EXECUTION AND SUMARRY

By collecting the data form both primary and secondary sources


our next step is to analyize that data and to define and derived what
are the findings, conculsion ,and suggestion of the study
And form that according the data derivation we have made this
report
INDUSTRY PROFILE

India's banana export is expected to continue its growth this year in


terms of volume as well as value. A total of 1.91 lakh tonne worth
Rs 619 crore has been exported so far, the Ministry of Commerce
and Industry

The latest figure shows an increase in export of 1.34 lakh metric


tonne banana (valued at Rs 413 crore) in 2018-19. India exported
1.95 lakh metric tonne banana valued at Rs 660 crore in 2019-20.

"India's banana export has been rising sharply because of adoption


of farm practices as per the global standards,"

India is the world's leading producer of bananas with a share of


around 25 per cent in total output. Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil
Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya
Pradesh contribute more than 70 per cent of the country's banana
production.

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export and


Development Authority (APEDA) promotes exports of agricultural
and processed food products by providing assistance to the
exporters under various components of its scheme such as
Infrastructure Development, Quality Development and Market
Development.

In addition, APEDA also conducts international Buyer Seller


Meets, Virtual trade fairs with importing countries to promote
agricultural and processed food products.
Apart from this the Department of Commerce also supports
exports through various schemes like Trade Infrastructure for
Export Scheme, Market Access Initiative, etc.

In a major boost to exports of Geographical Indications (GI)


certified agricultural produce, a consignment of fibre and mineral
rich 'Jalgaon banana' has been exported to Dubai, said the
statement.

"The twenty-two metric tonnes of GI certified Jalgaon banana were


sourced from progressive farmers of Tandalwadi village, part of
Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, a banana cluster identified under
Agri Export Policy,"

In 2016, Jalgaon Banana got GI certification which was registered


with Nisargraja Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Jalgaon.

To help small businesses create a path for themselves and establish


themselves in the global market, an eminent panel of experts will
deliberate on how to reach customers around the world.

The pandemic has wreaked havoc on businesses across industries,
given the current economic situation. While large organizations
have all the resources to adapt to emerging technologies and
internet tools, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
may find it difficult to keep up.

RESERCH METHODOLOGY
The resource covers the famdamental of case study and research
analysis it focuses on study crop cultivation of banana in jalgaon
region /opportunites for export in gulf countries as well as the
issues of business rsearch including research objectives,and
methodologuy

1)RATIONALE OF THE STUDY:-

*the questions prepared for survey and responses from it.


And secondary data was collected through various websiites
research done by experts,publications, reports, articles, etc

*Also the data interpretion in graphical manner is based on


the questionnaire

*The data collection is primary type of data collection from


repared based on awareness , general information of banana
cultivation and export in gulf countries

2) OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY :-

cultivation pratices
4)To study the compition of export businesses in jalgaon district
5)To study the compition between banana tissue culture industry
marketing for propogation of banana
3)TYPES OF RESERCH DESIGN :-

*Descriptive research design :- In our project thr types of research


design is use by us is descriptive research design because it can
provide and describe the critical feature and information about the
target population or environment. It describes the answer for the
question like what,who,how,when,where ,etc.
The objective of descriptive research is to revil the already
present data or the feature of the given population . in other words
it can be said that descriptive reaserch seeks to explain a
phenomeon and the reasons and assumption behind specific
bhehaviour

4) SOURCES OF DATA COLLECION :-

a) primary sources :- in the primary sources of data collection we


have prepard the questionair on google forms
b) seconday sources :- in the secondary sources of data collection
we referred to various websites,article,expert publications and
reports

5)SAMPLE DESIGN :-

a)sample population :- For our project the sample population


are all the cultivator of banana and marketing and sales personnels
export personnels as well

b)sample size :- we have collected the responces from 174


people for our research project
c)sample area :- jalgaon region

d)sample technique :- for the collection of data we made the


questionair on google form and take the responces from our
population

6) SCOPE OF THE STUDY:-

Our project covers on various topic related to the cultivation


and export opportunities of banana, some of them are as fllows
1.how much is the cultivation of banana in thre jalgaon
region
2 what are the traditional cultivation practices used by the
cuktivators/farmers
3.what are the new techniques and practices adopted by
cultivators/farmers for the the cultivation
4. what is the competition between marketing and sales of
banana tissues culture and agrochemicals industry
5. to get to know the parameters for the export of banana
6 to know which are the export companies are active ithe
export work
7 To know the competition beteen the export industry

Form our project on study the crop cultivation of banana


in jalgaon region /opportunities for export in gulf
countries we have founded following thing
1.there is singnificant scope for banana cultivation in
jalgaon district
2.traditional farming can be beneficial for banana
cultivation
3.farmer have adopted new technique and technologies
over the time fpr cultivation like mentioned above
4.organic as well as chemical fertilizer as used in
cultivation
5.farmers use tisuue culture for propagation
6.drip irrigation is most preferd for banana cultivation
7.In jalgaon district jain tissue culture are most preferd for
propogation
8.we can make byproduct and value added product from
banana and can earn income from it
9.there are excellent opportunities available for export of
banana in jalgao, district
10.quality is the most considered factor in the export of
banana
11.shaydri farm and local export company are working in
active manner in jalgaon distrit for export
12.shape ,size,luster,weight are the parameter to determine
export quality
13.farmer can do mix cropping with banana ti gain more
income
B)Conclusion :-

From our project study the crop cultivation of banana


in jalgaon region /opportunities for export in gulf
countries we can be concluded that farmer are adopting
new and updated technique and technologies for the
cultivation of banana as they have realised that threre are
export opportunities are available for banana, its by
products and valuve added products in the manner to
achieve extra income and improving their economical
condition
In the jalgaon district as farmer have adopted new
technique and technologies the compitation between the
tissue culture industry have increase and in that jain tissue
culture is leading the compition .in the export industry also
there are companies active in jalgaon district but the
counsrtating part is that local companies are competiting
and leading with famous campanies such as sahaydhri
farm nashik and Mahindra farm
