12. a.)Consider the relation A from R to R defined as,

(x, y) = A if x ≥ y
The ordered pair (57, 53), 57≤53 then (57, 53) = A, so 57 € A 53 is true
The ordered pair (-17, -14),-172≥-14 is not true, then (-17.
-14)€ A. So (-17) (-14) is not True
The ordered pair (14, 14),
14≤14 then (14, 14) E A, so 14 A14 is true
The ordered pair (-35, 1), -35≤1 is not true, then (-35, 1)is not an
element of A, so (-35)A (1) is not true
b.)

13. a.)we need to find all the relations from A to B

We need to find A x B

A×B = {(a,u), (a, v), (b, u), (b, v), (c, u), (c, v))

We know that the subset of A x B is called relations from A to B

We know that the number of relations from A to B is 2” (AXB) = 2^6

= 6^4,Therefore, we have the relations

b.)for each element of set A, there are two possible values of B to be

assigned.

Hence we have 8 functions from A to B, for each value of A paired to one of B,

there are two options for the other two elements of A.

c.)no of relations = 64

no of functions =8

hence 8/64 = 1/8 is the fraction of relations from {a,b,c} to {u.v} are functions

14.a.) Domain= {a,b,c} co-domain{1,2,3,4}

b.) F(a)=2 F(b)=4 F(c)=2

c.) F{(a,2),(b,2),(c,2)}

15.It is known that “If two function f and g are equal in some common domain D
then f (x) = g(x) VxED.”

Let x = 0 € A

Then

F (0) = (0+4)² = 4² = 16

G (0) (0² +3 (0) + 1) = 1,

Hence we get one element x = 0 = A for which

F (0) ≠G (0)

So F≠ G
