1.0 PURPOSE

The Procedure covers the method at chipping of shore pile up to cut off level and
construction of cap beam above piles

2.0 SCOPE
The scope covers the work method to secant Shore Pile with cap beam together with
Reinforcement concrete to ensure stability against lateral forces

3.0 REFERENCE
 Tender document
 Project specifications
 Relevant Approved Drawings.

4.0 MATERIALS (As per approved sample):


 Reinforcement Steel FE500 of CRS/ HCRM: As per availability of Steel Grade.
 RMC: Supply of Concrete Mix as per Specification
 Binding Wire 18 gauge

5.0 TOOLS &EQUIPMENTS


 18-25 Kg Demolition Hammer
 Breaker machine /JCB.
 Metal cutting machine
 Electrical Soil Compact machine.
 Concrete Vibrator
 Surveying Instrument – Total Station/ Auto level

6.0 ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

◦ The MS shall be followed by all personnel involved in the construction activity.


◦ This MS may be adjusted to suit adverse site conditions subject to approval of Client
and PMC.
◦ Action may be delegated, but responsibilities shall not be delegated.
◦ Project Manager: Project manager shall responsible for Safety, Quality, progress,
planning & scheduling of site activities. Also responsible for organizing a project team
to perform a work, controlling time management, managing deliverables, establishes
regular meetings & managing reports & necessary documentation.
◦ Site Engineer: Ensuring construction is in accordance with approved MS and
specifications. Ensuring that all data is recorded in accordance with this document.
Ensuring all required as built data are recorded.
◦ QA/QC Engineer: Ensuring the entire site QA/QC activity. Ensuring all the work
should be carried out as per approved method statement.
◦ Site Supervisor: Ensuring that the construction is as per method statement.
Responsible for managing all machineries, tools & labours used in the driving of
soldier piles and king posts.
◦ Safety Officer: Advice the execution team in safe operation procedures and to bring
out the unsafe conditions to the notice of the in-charge. At any given point if the
activity is not being carried out as mentioned in the method statement, it is to be
brought to the notice of the project manager

7.0 ACTIVITY PLANNING, SCHEDULING & MANPOWER ARRANGMENT:

8.0 PROCEDURE:
 Excavation area to be de marketed accordingly to the pile alignment w.r.t approved
drawing.
 Excavating the area adjoining the guide wall up to a width of 900mm and depth of
1000mm.
 Dismantling the guide wall with mechanical breaker attached to the JCB.
 Dismantling the shore pile up to the cut off level using 18-25 Kg capacity mechanical
breaker and removing all loose material using air blower.
 Cleaning and disposing the excavated material from the pit.
 Ensure Anti-Termite treatment has been done.
 Laying of PCC of M10 grade of concrete 50 -75mm thick at the bottom level of the
cap beam.
 Cutting, bending and placing of reinforcement steel as per the approved drawing.
 Fixing of 12mm plywood shuttering as per attached sketch.
 Concreting the shuttering molds with designed RMC grade of concrete.
 De shuttering of shuttering after 12hrs.
 Wet curing of concrete for 7 days.

9.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTROL


◦ Quality Assurance and Quality Control QA/QC shall be as inspection test plan.
◦ Ensure the Bed of soil Level.
◦ Ensure adequate concrete cover to the reinforcement.
◦ Workability of Concrete shall be checked for each transit mixer at site.
◦ Ensure cubes are taken for each grade of concrete as per below:

51 and above sample for each 5

Each sample shall be of adequate so that minimum of 3 specimen cubes can be made test of the sample
in accordance IS Code 456:2008.
◦ Ensure Concrete sample for cubes are collected from the fresh concrete and over the
period of concrete pouring
