    Project Proposal

    I. Project Title: EduKabuhayan

    IV. Target Beneficiaries: Bonafide students of Fabrica High School
    V. Rationale:
    Hog raising is very popular and profitable enterprise in the Philippines through the years.
    Despite of the recent crises faced by the swine industry due to African Swine Fever, still
    many people are venturing in this type of enterprise. They are aware of the profitability and
    productivity in raising hogs. There are numerous people who engages in backyard farming.
    This has been one of the main sources of living in San Vicente, Camarines Norte to augment
    their daily needs and expenses. With this, there are certain and various livelihood projects
    such as the introduction of economic potential of raising native pigs which are initiated by the
    Local Government and adapted by the barangays.
    On the other hand, Animal Production is one of the components and major in Technology
    and Livelihood Education and Technology and Vocational Livelihood subject enables
    students to experience and expose to opportunities from production through agribusiness and
    processing that can provide them solid foundation for diverse careers.
    With this, Fabrica High School aims to strengthen and broaden the interest of students in
    animal production and promotion of raising native pigs in the community. EduKabuhayan,
    an education and livelihood program that will benefit students with interest in raising native
    pigs, academically deserving and financially-challenged students.

    VI. Objectives:
    1. To identify deserving students of Fabrica High School to be beneficiary of pair of native
    pig
    2. To alleviate the living condition of the selected students and its families
    3. To put into practice the theories and lessons learned in school

    VII. Project Description and Mechanics


    Project EduKabuhayan is an education and livelihood program that aims to promote
    awareness of raising native pigs, identify the deserving beneficiary students and serve as an
    avenue to put the theories learned in school to actual practices.
    The school owns one boar and one sow which came from the Seed Farm. As of now, the
    school has additional three fatteners. Once these female pigs conceived and farrowed, pair of
    native pigs will be awarded to evaluated and selected deserving beneficiary student of the
    school. The selected student will then take care of the turned-over pair of native pigs until it
    then conceived and farrowed. The student will then allot and turn over one pair of native pigs
    to another evaluated and selected deserving student and so on.
    All throughout the process, teachers and experts in the field will assist and monitor the
    practices and management in raising the native pigs.
    Faculty of Fabrica High School will be the responsible in evaluating and identifying the
    deserving beneficiary students. The most important criteria in selecting a beneficiary student
    are: with interest in raising native pig, well academically performing student and those who
    are financially-challenged student.
    VIII. Source of fund
    The fund needed to start and sustain this project will be coming from Gulayan sa
    Paaralan and Babuyan Income Generating Project.
    IX. Expected Output of the Project
    After the conduct of the project, the following are the expected output:
    1. There are identified deserving beneficiary students of native pigs
    2. Improved living condition of the selected students and its families
    3. To have put into practice the theories and lessons learned in school
    4. To have acquired hands-on experiences with different practices and procedures in hog
    raising
    5. Increased awareness in native pig raising
    6. Promoted the value of work, care and camaraderie among student
