5 things to keep in mind before heading for a

voyage

Heading to explore a new city. You know that having some of the
essentials will set up for the amazing trip that doesn’t disrupts your
wander lust.

Aside from the obvious currency, travel checks, plastic money, travel
guide, passport, visas and other essential documents there are a few
things I would suggest one to pack. I’ve included a mix of travel
essentials which makes your trip as that of a pro traveler.
1. Customized first aid-box :

(There’s no need to mention about the necessity of this item)

Only you know what you might need the most, so run through your
prescription if any, your itinerary and think about the worst case
scenarios. For me this usually includes a drugstore run to pick up
paracetamol, anti-allergic, anti-biotic, pain killers, eye drops, bandages,
relispray, glucose, dettol, sanitizers, wet wipes and something else
according to the place am going. I strip off the packaging & just
organize the actual items in plastic bags, so they acquire less space and
are more organized, and place my prescription if any in the same
pouch.
2. Be all smiles :

Unanticipated and unforeseen things can occur when you are in an

non-native land and especially when you are travelling alone you need
to be ready for this all, so that nothing can go wrong with you trip and
you stay all smiles on your trip.

So apart from making a list of emergency contacts, (be ready to be you

own soldier)*, I carry a swiss knife, a pepper spray and other essentials
from first aid box etc.
3. Device related:

In the age of smart phones we can’t go without, travel adapters,

portable chargers, USB, ear phones, plug-in etc.
Also I keep in mind to carry a notepad or diary to note on a few
important things whether it is about the places I want to visit or
things I don’t want to forget, or help me making a checklist before
I step out of my hotel room.
4. Apparels:

Apart from the clothes you select you need a few more things to
have a smooth trip.
You need to carry minimum shoes with you as they take up a lot
of space, try going for multipurpose shoes.
Don’t forget a thermal wear or parachute jackets or rain coat,
easy to dry towels, and other things depending on the climatic
and weather conditions of the place you are planning to visit,
check for the weather report of that place and pack accordingly.
5. Food love:

When we travel to distant lands, we explore their food culture but

then you are exposed to unhealthy food and you’re prone to
falling sick and there comes a point after which I miss home
cooked food which is beyond the bounds of possibility. So I always
carry ready to cook packets such as Maggie, which has been my
travelling friend, we all have our me ‘n’ meri Maggie story. But
even Maggie can’t sort it all. So I carry EAT EASY FOODS packets
with me, which are light, sleek and fits in easily between the
spaces of my clothes or other zip pockets. They taste really good
and have a wide range of products to choose from i.e. snack to
meal to sweet delights. Its like a home made food anytime
anywhere, less time consuming and also at affordable prices,
because as a traveler you really need to keep a check on your
expenses and it becomes a really good option then.
Other things would include:
• A small multipurpose kettle.
• A flask
• An aquaguard filter travel bottle.
• Laundary bag

Make a checklist of you essential items pack them in an organized

way to keep things from tangling later and just head to the
experience awaiting you.

Enjoy your trip.
