HOW TO USE THE BOOK

Providing an overview of the unique account of God’s relationship
with his people in both the Old and New Testaments, Unlocking
the Bible, by the widely respected evangelical speaker and writer
David Pawson, gives a real sense of the sweep of biblical history
and its implications for our lives, opening up the Word of God in
a fresh and powerful way. Avoiding the small detail of verse-by-
verse studies, it sets out the epic true story of God and his people.
The culture, historical background and people are introduced, and
the teaching is applied to the modern world.
This collection of maps, diagrams and charts is intended for
use as a supplement to the related recorded teaching sessions by
David Pawson, providing illustrations which the author has used
to accompany his talks. The sessions were delivered over a period
of many decades, so some of the resources, where they refer to
facts which were correct at the time of ﬁrst use, may no longer be
up-to-date. (This would apply, for example, to the illustrations of tall
buildings.) Moreover, as the images will have been used in more than
one talk, or in relation to more than one Bible study, some of them
are intentionally duplicated here, thus providing, as far as possible,
a full and appropriately accessible record of the resources used in
each teaching series.
