Live Events Getting Started Guide
Step-by-step overview
1 Schedule the live event in your 3rd party broadcast tool (Restream, Streamyard, Switcher,
Socialive ONLY) at least 2 weeks in advance for maximum reach. Use existing directions
to schedule a live stream for that tool.
2 Go to the admin view of your Page or Activity section of your Profile on LinkedIn. Find
the new scheduled live event post there. Edit and add details such as speakers and
description to attract the right attendees.
4 If you are hosting from a Page, consider copy/pasting the event URL into an Event
Ad campaign in Campaign Manager. Promote the URL anywhere on and off
LinkedIn to drive registration.
5 Go live from the same 3rd party tool you scheduled from (we’ll notify all attendees
and a subset of your followers).
6 After the event, share the replay link anywhere on and off LinkedIn to maximize reach.
The post also gathers views over time on your feed.

Add speakers on the event page after creating it in the 3rd party tool
to take advantage of their networks.
Make sure to craft a very compelling post copy, as that will kick off
distribution of your event on the feed. Use hashtags!
Try to schedule your live event two weeks to one month in advance to
maximize opted-in attendance.
Don’t stop promoting the event and inviting people to it in the weeks
leading up to show time!
