Acknowledgement

First of all, I would like to thank my Moral Education lecturer Mr. Tengku

Zahiri B. Tengku Abdul. It because I obtain various information regarding this

subject. Moreover, I’m also able to produce a satisfying assignment from the

knowledge that I obtain in his class. I can say that, now I’m more capable and

confident in studding and applying the moral skills. So, this really helped me in

completing this particular task. On the other hand, I would like to wish thank you

to my friends also. It is because I obtained their helped while completing this

project. They helped me directly or indirectly throughout this obligation. There are

various facts and data that I acquire in this subject. All that figures really helped

me a lot in this subject. In conclusion, I thank all that directly or indirectly who

helped me in completing this assignment.

Introduction

I was given a mission that needs us to relate what have we learned from Moral

Education subject. I need to prepare an assignment by using the knowledge that I had

gained all this while. Besides that, I also need to write an essay based on the task

given. I hope by doing this assignment, I can improve my knowledge on moral values

and skills. Besides that, by involving in this task, I have challenged myself to be

discipline and complete my job without any disturbance no matter health or personal life

problems. I also hope that I had used proper usage of points in my chore given.
ESSAY :

Human beings learn through imitation. Children learn to talk by mimicking their
parents and others around them. They learn to sing by reproducing pitches they hear in
music class or on the radio. They learn to think by observing how an older and wiser
person draws conclusions from difficult mental puzzles. In all walks of life and in every
career imitation is the gateway to mastery and, paradoxically, to independence. The
most successful professionals can attribute much of their capacity in their jobs to
"mentoring" by one or more teachers, trainers, or supervisors. The same is true of
sports and the performing arts. Inner-city boys who play basketball for hours on end
dream of being "like Mike." They copy his dunks, his lay-ups, his jump-shots. But did not
Mike grow up imitating the likes of Dr. J? Similarly, the seven-time grammy nominee
India Arie closely followed Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin in her youth. Jackie Chan
owes much of his technique to a careful study of Bruce Lee. The question is whether
imitation can be applied to the realm of morals. For not all of us can be famous
performers. Yet each of us must perform morally from day to day in order to live
responsibly in society.

Basically, moral is something that consults about the right and wrong acts,
whether our actions are correct or the other way around and learning situations. Moral
and ethics have the same meaning. It will essential if we can spot the differences
between both of them. In Malaysian society, there are three main races which are the
Malays, Chinese and Indians. Values are all the same among us in Malaysia. The
believes also have more less the similar values.

On the other hand, moral education consists of three main branches. We will see
that detail in the following points. Each of them is very important in conducting a good
life in sense of manner and moral.

Ethics is a branch of philosophy which seeks to address questions about morality

that is about concepts like good and bad, right and wrong, justice, virtue and many
more. Ethics have mainly five branches. Meta-ethics is the theoretical meaning and
reference of moral propositions and how their truth-values determined. Normative-ethics
is about the practical means of determining a moral course of action. Applied ethics is
about how moral outcomes can be achieved in specific situations. Moral psychology is
about how moral capacity or moral agency develops and what nature is? Descriptive
ethics is about moral values people actually abide by.

Values is a relative ethic value, an assumption upon which implementation can

be extrapolated. They are also considered subjective, very across people and cultures
and are in many ways aligned with belief systems. Human values are set of emotional
rules people follow to help make the right decisions in life. The values identify those
objects, conditions or characteristics that members of society consider important that is
valuable

Morality basically means manner, character and proper behavior. Firstly, morality
means a code of conduct or a set of beliefs distinguishing between right and wrong
behaviors. Secondly, morality refers to an ideal code of belief and conduct which would
be the sane ‘moral’ person, under specified conditions. Thirdly, morality is synonymous
with ethics. It is the systematic philosophical study of the moral domain.

Throughout this semester, I have involved in many activities especially in my

society. There are two societies I’m actively involved in which will be in my English
Language Society and Sports and Recreational. I am the vise-treasurer for the English
Language Society. Besides that, I’m also one of the members of comity in Sports and
Recreational. My involvements in this kind of activities really help me to expand my
knowledge and develop my experience.

First and foremost, we went to visit the Sabah State Museum under one of the
activities of Sports and Recreational. I gained a lot in sense of positive and
unenthusiastic awareness. My strengths are that I’m able in being cooperative. I can get
along well with others and willing to compromise with others in order to enjoy and make
the trip a wonderful one. I’m also committed to the concept of the society which needs
all of us to be supportive. I was prepared to join and be knowledgeable about what I
want to involve in. When our President guided us to the museum, I showed my full
support in joining the activities that will be held there. After my lecturer gave us a little
briefing, I was prepared and showed my commitment in those activities held. Activities
that were held are such as, visiting the Cultural Village, one part of Sabah State
Museum. I visited those places with a small group of my friends. We moved in a small
group so that it will be easy for us to recognize and understand our aim for the activity. I
was amazed with the cultures found in Sabah. I discovered and become skilled at
learning those culture’s way of living, their type of houses, cultures among the young’s
and olds, culture of marriage ceremony, their festivals, and many more about the
ethnics in this state. Popular ethnics that we can find here are Kadazan, Iban, Dusun,
Rungus, Kadazan-Dusun and many more. I found out many about their society,
backgrounds, traditions and also their customs. Besides that, I need to alter and
transform some of my negative traits that I found in myself during this activity. I have to
be braver in asking questions to my lecturer on any aspects that I do not understand
and blur. I realize that sometimes I am left out because of my own mistake caused by
my shyness.

Secondly, I attended a talk on ‘Safety Steps during Water Activities’ held by the
Sports and Recreational society. The talk was given by our society lecturers. The talk
was very valuable and effective for all of us there. The information that I gained was
really informative and constructive in building my self-esteem towards my life. There are
a few strengths and weaknesses that I discovered in me through this activity. I have
done my civic duty by abiding the laws and rules of the talk. The talk needs me to listen
carefully on the purpose of the talk and I succeeded. I also attended the talk without any
hesitation and do not try playing truant. Besides that, I participated fairly and shared the
knowledge that I have based on the talk on that particular day. That aspect will help me
participate in community in a betterment area in my daily life. Besides that, I’m able to
live in the community by staying calm and rational, even under conditions of temptation,
stress, or aggravated assault by others. Activities that I’m involved in nowadays will
really be helpful in my future time. Information that I got through this talk, I can apply it
during my days in college. It will help me to be more careful if I’m involved in any water
activities. There are chances that any societies will organize activities such as crafting,
kayaking, boating, and anything related to water. So, I can take my own safety
precautions before engage to any of the activities. The parts that I should improve
based on this activity quite a few aspects. Next time, I should concentrate more on the
topics that were being talked in front. It will be essential in understanding and react
towards it. I can also participate actively by asking questions on parts that I cannot
understand. So, I will be able to act by concept of moral development.

Last but not least, I was also involved enthusiastically in my English Language
Society. As every Wednesday we are having our English Language Society period, it
will give me time to become skilled at aspects involving grammar, vocabulary and also
development of essay skills. One of the days, we had our activity on Newspaper in
Education (NIE). This activity if truth be told particularly had helped me improve a lot in
my English Language. What we had is we have to learn through newspaper. The chore
that my group got is we have to find words on Adverb and Adjective. So, I had showed
my personal responsibilities in completing this chore. I make sure I’m countable and
dependable during this job is done. I’m also frank and open so that we can complete the
activity without any negative feelings towards my group. My strengths through this
activity are that I know the differences of word classes in grammar. I feel that I did not
master enough on how to explain and describe some of the word classes. Hence, I can
improve on my personality by reading and doing ample of exercises on grammar.

To summarize, what is the one that shape our character towards our thinking and
behavior in future? It is moral character! Moral character is an evaluation of a particular
individual's moral qualities. The concept of character can imply a variety of attributes
including the existence or lack of virtues such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty,
and loyalty, or of good behaviors or habits. Moral character primarily refers to the
assemblage of qualities that distinguish one individual from another - although on a
cultural level, the set of moral behaviors to which a social group adheres can be said to
unite and define it culturally as distinct from others. Psychologist Lawrence Pervin
defines moral character as "a disposition to behave expressing itself in consistent
patterns of functioning across a range of situations"

As a conclusion, this assignment and the exhibition had made me to be more morally
constructed person mainly in my life and the way I am thinking. It is because I have to
be very professional in matter during the task were done.
