couple cannot walk towards the Dining Table in front without something to walk on, we call it THE MONEY
BRIDGE. You all know how it works, it means we have to line up the bills on the floor from the couple’s entrance to
the table! We need your help, those who wants to, may start now!

OPENING PRAYER AND PRAYER FOR THE FOOD

To continue with our program, may I request everyone to please stand as we acknowledge the presence of the
Lord to be led by Ms. Alaine Rose Uy.

LUNCH
Thank you, Ms. Alaine Rose. There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Our lunch is served. You are all hereby
invited to partake lunch.

(you may now get your food at the buffet table.)

Please enjoy your meal.

(wait until almost everyone is settled…)

DOVE RELEASE
While we are having our lunch, we will now proceed to the traditions being performed during a wedding
ceremony. We will start with the DOVE RELEASE.

May I request the newlyweds to please come forward and each get a dove.

The two doves signify Marvin Jay and Arlene being released to start a new journey together. Like the pair of dove,
whatever happens, they will always try to seek the comfort of each other and their home together. This is where
they know that they will find love. A dove always chooses one mate for life.

Doves symbolize love, peace, unity, hope, happiness, prosperity, faith, and new beginnings.
It is said that the presence of dove on a wedding day will assure a happy home, good fortune, and everlasting love.

Marvin Jay and Arlene are now ready so we will now release the doves.
Join me as we count three to release the doves.

Ready, in three… two… one!!!

Off they go! That was really beautiful!

CUTTING OF THE WEDDING CAKE

I guess it’s time for the couple’s desert!
We will now proceed to the cutting of the wedding cake. May I request the newlyweds to do the honors of cutting
the wedding cake.

(Newlyweds come forward to cut the cake)

How do we do that?
The hand of the groom is placed over the hand of the bride when cutting the cake to symbolize his support for her
and her promise to take care of him and their family.
Furthermore, the fact that couples are encouraged to cut from the bottom symbolizes the longevity and
continuity of their relationship. Last, but definitely not least, the custom according to which the bride and groom
feed each other from the cake symbolizes their commitment to take care of one another.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, the cake has been cut.

TOAST TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM

A celebration is never complete without a toast and a bottle of good wine, let us now bring out the good wine or
any drinkable liquids available and pour them on your glasses.

“to the bride and groom, may we I wish you good health, may I wish you happiness, may I wish you wealth for the
many years to come as husband and wife, - and everything else you could wish for.

Here’s to good health, happiness, blessings, and prosperity to Marvin Jay and Arlene.”

Raise your glasses, cheers!

Let us now proceed to the unwrapping of wedding gifts to be performed by the newlyweds.
We will start with the smallest gift. (countdown 3… 2… 1…)
Let’s also unwrap the largest gift. (countdown 3… 2… 1…)

request all the single ladies of the wedding entourage to please come forward for the bouquet throw. We would
also like to request the bride to come forward and take her place – center stage.

INSTRUCTION:
Ladies, kindly take your place behind the bride and be prepared to catch the bouquet.
It is said that whoever will catch it would then get some of the good fortune and would soon be the next bride. So,
is everyone in?

Ready when you are at the count of three, the bride will throw her bouquet.
May I also request the audience to please join me in counting.

(Make sure that everyone is in place)

Ready when you are ladies. Let us now do the countdown. The bride will throw her bouquet in three…two…one!
And the it goes.

(Bride throws the bouquet and the ladies tries to catch it.)

May I request the lay who was able to catch the bouquet to please come forward.

Congratulations, Miss. May I have your name please.

Okay, let’s give a hand to Ms. ______________________. Please have a seat beside the bride and in a moment,
we shall find your match in the garter toss.

RETRIEVAL OF THE GARTER

Before we go on with the garter toss, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride.
May we request Marvin Jay and Arlene to please come center stage and do the garter retrieval ritual.

(a chair is brought onstage for the bride to sit. While the groom kneels down at the bride’s feet to retrieve the
garter.)

A short trivia:
A wedding garter is an accessory that a bride wears on her wedding day, secretly hidden beneath the folds of her
wedding gown. It is worn on either leg, just above the knee.

Traditionally a groom, at some point during the wedding reception, will attempt to remove the garter and toss it at
a group of single men - it is thought to bring good luck to whoever catches it.

Ladies and gentlemen, the groom will now retrieve the garter from the bride.

(Groom retrieves the garter from the bride)

There you have it. The groom was finally able to retrieve the garter. Let us give him a big round of applause.
GARTER TOSS
It is now the gentlemen’s turn and we will now do the garter toss. May I now request all single men of the
wedding entourage to please come forward for the garter toss.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Gentlemen, please form a circle.
The DJ will be playing a song as you pass the garter around, and once the music stops, the gentleman holding the
garter wins the game.

Ready in 3…2…1… music please!

Congratulations, Sir. May I have your name please.

Did you know that It is said that whoever catches the garter will be the next man to be married?

Okay, let’s give a hand to Mr. ______________________.

May I request the lucky guy who now have in his possession the garter. Sir, please come forward and take your
place beside the lady who has the bouquet.

Now that we have already found a perfect match. The next bride and groom to be in the future. It is time for
another ritual. The gentleman who got the garter is to put it on the lady who caught the bouquet.

At this point we would like to request Ms.___________________ to please have a seat while
Mr._____________________ puts the garter.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr.__________________ will now put the garter on Ms._____________________.

(Lady take a seat while gentleman puts the garter on her)

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Our new lovely pair and if it would not be too much to ask, we would like
the gentleman to give the lady a quick kiss. (on the hand)
