2) Pre-grind & removed the existing chrome from the stem swivel O.DØ9.997" , Ø10.997" . Ø7.85"

4) Final grind the swivel stem O.D to ok size as per drawing.
5) Grind & removed the excessive weldment , grind to profile , cleaned & packed.

a) The areas to be tested were first cleaned with remover
b) Dye Penetrant was then sprayed on the areas to be tested. After about ten minutes, the excess Penetrant was then wiped with
dry cloth and the remaining Penetrant was then removed with the remover and the Developer was applied. The area under
testing was then examined.
FINAL INSPECTION
1) Dye penetrant performed,
no unacceptable indications were observed,
at the time of inspection.

2.0 Procedure
2.1 Mount rotating head firmly on a sturdy base or on motor housing assembly.
2.2 Connect pressure line to port "Hi n (on flange and a pressure gauge) to
correspondig port "H1" on swivel block. After bleeding line, pressurize port "H1"
to 2000 psi and isolate circuit from pump. Hold pressure for 3 minutes.
2.3 Repeat above procedure for each of the ports "H2, 51, and 52· (Pressure drop
should not be more than 150 psi).
2.4 Similarly hydraulically pressurize ports "A1, A2 and A3" individually to 2000 psi.
Hold pressure for 3 minutes.
2.5 Relieve pressure in all lines. Measure friction torque between swivel block and
flange.
Maximum friction torque 400 ft-Ib to 500 Ton rating, 520 ft-lb for 650 Ton rating.
2.6 Pressurize the "H1" port to 2500 psi and measure friction torque. Maximum
friction torque 600 ft-Ib for a 500 Ton rating, 780 ft-Ib for a 650 Ton rating.
2.7 Rotate swivel head 1 complete turn with port H1 pressurized to 2000 psi to as
sure free rotation with constant friction torque.
2.8 Check "Cam Plate" for free rotation.

ASSEMBLY NOTES
A. Cleaning of Bearings
Wipe bearing clean. Do not clean in solvent tan k.
B. Chilling of Bearings
Should be chilled in a cooler, temperature should not go below 40°F. Do not use
nitrogen at anytime to chill bearing.
C. Heating of Bearings
Bearing are to be heated in oven to a maximum of 250°F,
D. Bearing Fits
Bearing to housing and bearing to shaft fits should be checked and recorded before
chilling or heating by Assembly personnel.
E. Torque Values
All fasteners should be torqued to specification with a calibrated torque wrench. Refer
to the assembly drawings or APS for correct values. If not called out, refer to DS 00008.

MAINBOOY/MOTOR INITIAL DATE
1. Install brake adapter plate and secure with bolts, lock washers.
Torque to 500 FT-LBS and safety wire. Verify bolt heads on this ~?t~
end of motor are sealed. Apply silicone to bolts as necessary.

brake ad~pter plate. Prefill the grease lines with 'Cyprina' RA

indicator to check runout at 4 positions and record. Should be

Safety wire upper bolts, drill lower bolts and install cotter pins.
