engrossing sessions. The students learn through various management exercises, case studies
and analysis, lectures, and projects. The course structures help in developing an analytical
bent of mind, skills to become competent and understand the dynamics of the business
environment. The assessment is done through internal and semester‐end examinations to
ensure high academic standards. Class room quizzes, open discussions and presentations
create an atmosphere of enthusiastic learning.
Case Study Approach
Over the years, the practice of putting students into
the shoes of managers and applying theoretical
skills to real‐life unstructured problems, has proven
to be a successful method of learning. Adopting
this strategy, USMS exposes its students to case
studies, covering an array of subjects, which are
discussed in the class by the faculty and also
among the student fraternity to enhance
application-oriented learning.

growth, USMS also includes guest lectures from
industry experts as well as live projects as part of
the course curriculum. This ensures a continuous
industry interaction process that aims to provide
students with insights into current global trends and
future business opportunities.

The times are chaotic, complex and changing; with the ever increasing
globalization, changing socio-economic climate, evolving needs of the consumer
market and technological advances. It has become important for the students to
prepare for these complexities. Recent Marketing blunders due to social media
outbursts, the Sublime crisis, the Greece problem and the slowdown of Chinese

the students for the corporate world where they would be ready for such adversities
which are in control or beyond the control of the internal environment.
