Generally the company will have a number of departments to run the company
very effectively and efficiently. In the same way “Royal Interiors” has various
departments.

Each and every department is having its own sales and regulations in order to
function efficiently and effectively. The importance of each department is analyzed
here.

PURCHASE DEPARTMENT

The main responsibility of the purchase department it to place orders for the raw
materials. This department will place order for raw material only if its required, while
placing the order condition like delivery, schedule and payment terms.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT

There are 14 employees in the service department. The workers are


selected after various test. The person who has successfully gone through the test are
employed. The employees are controlled by the service head and the supervisor.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The finance department is headed by the finance office. Each and every
transaction is recorded or future reference labour payments bonus, general expense made
daily are fed in the computer and reports are reported to the managing director. This
company has designed a software specially for their uses and they record the transactions
and other with the use of the software. Representatives are sent daily by collecting the
payment and the instructions are given by the managing director. Payments are got by
cash, cheque, D.D. The company maintains various accounting books. The accounts are
enter and the final reports are taken for the user and auditing purpose.

CASH BOOK

All cash transactions regarding general expenses, labour charges labour


welfare expenses, spares maintenance, vehicle maintenance etc., are recorded in this

Purchase journals are maintained to record the transaction regarding

purchase of Spares parts for the vehicles etc., information regarding purchase are also

maintained.

BILL BOOK

For recording all bills received by the customers and the bills to the
suppliers.

JOURNAL PROPER

For all the transactions that do not a place in any one of the above book
journals are maintained as a primary record of transactions and then it is posted to ledger.
Trial balance is prepared to verify the arithmetical accuracy of the accounts prepared.
The income and expenditure account plays a very vital role in summarizing all the
income and expenses of the concern.

BANK BOOK

The dealings with various banks the credit obtained from various banks are
recorded. The deposited banks name are maintained in the journal.

MARKETING DEPARTMENT

In the marketing department representatives are sent to various places all over the
Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgries district. They provide the details among the buyers and
public by announcing the various interior works.

HR DEPARTMENT

The personnel department is considered as the back bone of the organization it


maintains good relationship among the workers and between the management. Their

main work is implementation of measures on labour welfare, improving working
conditions and pay roll preparation.

The important functions of this department are recruitment, selection, training ,


promotion, transfer, demotion and so on.

RECRUITMENT OF WORKERS
The workers are mainly recruited from the local areas. Persons above 20 years
eligible for recruitment and on the completion of 58 years he is recreated of the duties
from the company.

SALARY STRUCTURE

CONCLUSION

On the completing of this institutional training I observed a very good atmosphere


prevailing in the company. By this training I have learned different activities which are
taking place in the concern. The training also helped us in obtaining practical knowledge.

A centralized records maintaining system found here. Even the personal records
of the office staff and labours are found. The “Royal Interior” is not only a profit earning
concern also a good training center the wages are paid to the workers in principle of equal
wages for equal workers.

Even though the concern is small it has a good name fame among the public and I
found that the concern will shine more than what it is now and believe the same.
