    Barcelona is located in the northeast of Spain, a short distance from

    France and the Pyrenees, being the most populated city in Spain behind
    Madrid.Barcelona is considered a benchmark in many aspects. 

    Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of the Catalonia region in Spain, is known for its art
    and architecture
    Barcelona currently has a population of 1,664,182

    What languages are spoken in Spain?

    Barcelona is a cosmopolitan and polyglot city in which more than 300 languages are
    spoken in its streets.

    In the city, there are two official languages: Catalan and Spanish.
    The vast majority of people in Barcelona consider themselves fully
    bilingual. This means that they can go from Catalan to Spanish with little
    effort. In addition, more and more people understand and speak English
    or other international languages.
    Catalan is a precious and indispensable element of Catalan culture.

    The best months to visit Barcelona are from March to November.
    On average, the warmest months are July and August.
    The coldest months are January and February.
    October is the rainiest month.
    The best months for swimming are June, July, August, September and
    October.
    The city of Barcelona enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. Although
    summers can be very hot, winters are cool and pleasant, autumn and
    spring seasons are sun-drenched with mild weather.

    Barcelona is the second most populated city in Spain and the Iberian
    Peninsula. It is also recognized as a "global city" for its great cultural,
    historical and architectural wealth. That is why it has been chosen on
    multiple occasions for the realization of major world events, such as the
    Olympic Games or the Universal Forum of Cultures.

    Some of the places you can visit when you travel to Spain are:

    a. The Gothic Quarter: it is in the center of the old city of Barcelona.


    Many of the buildings date from Medieval times, and some others as far
    back as the Roman settlement.

    b. BARCELONA CATHEDRAL It was constructed throughout the 13th to


    15th Centuries and in the 19th Century was constructed the neo-gothic
    façade. It is dedicated to Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of the city,
    a young virgin who suffered martyrdom during Roman times in the city
    b. PLAÇA DE SANT JAUME "Saint James's Square “is the administrative
    heart of Barcelona. At one side of the square there is the town hall and at
    the other the offices of the Presidency of Catalonia.

    c. The Sagrada Família: It is a large Roman Catholic church in


    Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudi in 1882. The church is an
    UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    d. PORTAL DE L’ANGEL: It is a pedestrian street and it’s always


    crowded with tourists at any time of the year. This place is one of the
    most important shopping venues in Barcelona.

    e. LA RAMBLA: It is a long street in the center of Barcelona. It starts in


    Plaça Catalunya between the old quartiers Barri Gòtic and El Raval and it
    finishes at Port Vell with the Christopher Columbus Monument near the
    sea.

    f. Parc Güell: It is a beautiful, colorful and lively park full of oddities. It is


    designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was created between
    1900 and 1914 by Antoni Gaudí.

    e. Garden Horta: It is known as the green maze in Barcelona.

    - An interesting thing about Barcelona is the photovoltaic panel in the


    Plaza del Forum. The photovoltaic panel is one of the most important
    solar power plants in Spain. This structure produces the equivalent
    consumption of some 140 families in Barcelona. Its surface is similar to
    that of a soccer field.

    In addition, this structure has almost three thousand panels for the use of
    solar energy that avoid the emission of 440 tons of CO2 per year.
