Activity #5.

1. My unique personality traits, skills, abilities, and hobbies that I can relate to as
Individualistic are:
a. I highly value independence. In an academic discussion, I prefer studying alone than in
groups. Studying alone enables me to concentrate more on particular subjects that need
memorization, such as history, science, and mathematics. Since I habitually utter words
out loud while facing the mirror or wall to recognize and retain exact information. Little
movements and sounds easily distract me from concentrating.
Furthermore, I observed that I accomplish tasks faster when I am alone. When
accompanied by others, I tend to have conversations with them, which makes the work
delayed. Additionally, group activities often create conflicts among the members as their
ideas contradict each other. Hence, I prefer accomplishing tasks alone as I can
appropriate my thoughts freely without other's criticisms.
b. I feel ashamed asking for help from others. As I often reckon that asking for assistance or
questions to others disturb them in doing their tasks. Besides, I deem that I can resolve
such conflict or unclear information with persistence and dedication.
c. I rarely ask for money and other material possessions from other people, especially my
parents, unless essential. I am quite hesitant since I am of age, like other students, who
can earn money to provide themselves and their families with support and financial
assistance.
d. I am reluctant to share personal problems with other people. Keeping the burdens and
difficulties within myself reduces the probability of influencing or transferring the
negative emotions to other people. I believe that each individual has to deal with their
problems in life, and sharing my burdens increases their stress and anxiety.
e. I work well in a competitive environment. Competition helps me to grow and develop
various life skills and abilities. As others easily influence me, working in a competitive
environment where individuals outdo each other by working faster and efficiently boosts
my innate competitive characteristic and influences productivity.
f. I like hobbies in which I can spend more time with myself, like reading novels, watching
movies, and listening to music. Reading books allows me to expand my imagination and
breathe in my personal fictitious and fantasy world. Moreover, watching movies alone
enables me to understand the storyline better and focus on the character development.
2. My beliefs, values, and characteristics which are socially shared within the group:
a. I believe in the maxim that everyone has their role and purpose of serving and helping
others. Although there are instances when I tend to be an individualist, serving others
helps me attain life satisfaction and happiness. I enjoy volunteering and participating in
various organizations that help people of different sectors, status, and background.
Moreover, I believe that an individual can create great things, but a group of individuals
can produce something extraordinary. This is evident in establishing a structure where an
architect, the construction's brain, composes an architectural design and concept, and
engineers of different kinds work together to create a stable building with science and
mathematics appropriation.
b. I can willingly sacrifice time and well-being for others' benefit, particularly friends,
families, and communities. The outcomes of the hard work and dedication I asserted are
dedicated to myself and others. I always bear in mind that as an "Iskolar ng Bayan," I
have a duty and responsibility of serving the nation and country.
c. I always seek self-development and growth, which are achieved by opening one's mind to
others' criticisms and advice. Interacting with various groups allows an individual to
grow and transform as he steps outside his comfort zone.
d. Traveling alone in unfamiliar places gives me anxiety, as it often represents change and
distance. Although I immensely value independence, I also seek companions for support
and guidance in case of emergencies.
e. I enjoy attending gatherings such as festivals, concerts, and events to meet people of
different nationalities, ages, and backgrounds but with similar interests. I find it
astonishing to share similar experiences with unknown people who share similar interests
and hobbies as mine.
