Topic IOS vs Android

Speakers’ names Jessica Aza

Speaker’s position IOS is better

Greeting and Introduction
Good _evening__ chairperson, opposition and audience.

We are Jessica Aza and Juan Rodriguez

The topic for today's debate is which operating system is better for your phone? IOS or
Android?

Outline your team's case:

a) Your points:
I will be speaking about...

● User experience

● Accessory’s selection

● Bloatware

b) Second speaker's points:

Our second speaker will be talking about....

● Different prices

● Customizable

● Innovative features
Your First Point
State your argument:
My first point is that Apple products IOS has revolutionize how people view, interact and
share all sorts of content. Its landmark is being the more user friendly interface where
kids two years and up can easily use an app to watch their shows or play a kind-friendly
game.

What's the information that supports your argument? According

to medium.com(1), a good user
interface and experience is highly rated to whoever’s using it because a satisfied buyer
increases your customer base and they’re going to come back for your products.
Which was exactly shown in the GoogleSurvey held by

PCmag(2) to 2,500 participants, where 47% reported a better user experience when they
switched from Android to Apple IOS.

Your Second Point

State your argument:
My second point is that one of the most anticipated conferences of the whole year is
Apple’s event where they release the new products as well as their accessories. They’ve
manage to innovate constantly starting from the iPod to the Apple watch, integrating all
under the same umbrella of a flagship product.

Apart from being pioneers, multiple

accumulated the data of this year’s

unveiling of the new iPhone13 and Apple watch series 7, where it hit 2.56 million peak
viewers on Youtube in the official channel, still ignoring those partnered to rebroadcast
the event. It is safe to say that it’s the most anticipated tech event of the year.

Your Third Point

State your argument:
My third point is that for those unaware of bloatware, it’s all of those preinstalled apps that
come with a specific phone brand, which helps to lower the cost of the overall device but
since Apple is already a household name, it doesn’t need it. Therefore, the storage space
it’s not reduced by that unnecessary software.

Countless of articles are being written

What's the information that supports your argument?
everyday on how to eliminate bloatware from your phone or a ranking of the best android
phones with the least bloatware, as pointed out by KnowYourMobile(4).

Closing statement
Chairperson, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion Apple products
present better overall characteristics that appeal a wider audience, especially those that
aren’t tech savvy and want everything ready to go combining style and functionality that
justifies the price that you’re paying.

Speaker’s position Android is better

Expressing disagreement with first speaker’s arguments

I disagree on user experience and accessory selection because Android has come a long
way to close the gap in technology to compete with IOS by letting retailers produce their
own products and therefore are not attached to a single brand to provide them.

As far as user experience, I think the fact that you can alter your phone according to your
needs is what makes android better.

Briefly State the Points You Will Make

Today I will be talking to you about:

● Cost

● Battery life

● Customization

Your First Point

State your argument:
My first point is that since there’s a lot of suppliers of Android, there’s also a phone for
every type of user without compromising to a single model like IOS, so if you want a
cheaper phone but still with great functionality.

The NYtimes ran a survey where they

focused on the best aspects of Android and the consensus was that the most important
aspect that differentiates IOS from Android among users was the cost

Your Second Point

State your argument:
My second point is that as a result of customization, Android has been able to alter the
hardware of their devices which has improve the battery life as far superior to what
Apple’s IOS is capable of right now.

What's the information that supports your argument? Once

again, Lifewire magazine has come to
the consensus that Android has better compatibility with several companies that choose
to use their software.
Your Third Point
State your argument:
My third point is that while the user experience in IOS it’s their best selling point, with
Android you can completely customize every aspect of your phone and if you’re tech
savvy you can even access the thousands of user-made add-ons to the software.

What's the information that supports your argument?

Lifewire, one of the most important publications in tech praised the capabilities of
Android’s open software policy and contributing to the infinite possibilities to go forward in
tech, from a software point of view but also the various apps that are present in the
Google store.

Closing statement
Chairman, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion Android has variety
that manages to cater to a whole different types of audience. Therefore, it is able to reach
a wider user base. While IOS might have some customers hooked on their interface, not
everyone can afford a device from their brand and in a global market that matters.
