Equal employment laws make it essential for the organizations,


not to discriminate among applicants on
the basis background,
nationality, race, colour , religion, gender etc and to provide
equal opportunity of
employment to candidates, purely based on
competence and skills . The law makes it illegal to discharge
inequality or impartiality by specifying positions for locals or
preferring a native employee or local over the
non native
applicants.

The recruitment process needs to be directly related to the


qualities and requirements needed for getting
the job ,
irrespective of culture nationality or religion the applicants
belongs to.

Therefore such laws play an integral role in activities relating


to recruiting of the personnel as the law
pertains to various
employment activities such as screening, placement, compensation,
job status,
promotion etc.

Personnel recruiting activities will thus while complying with


the law, involve providing equal opportunities
to employees or
prospective employees for joining the organizations on various
positions without any
partiality, bias or perception error.

Therefore the law of equal employment will apply to each


personnel recruiting activity whether it be
screening selection,
placement, job position, etc.

The two initiatives I would undertake to recruit and retain a


more diverse workforce will be :

Formulate Cross cultural projects :


A cross cultural project is the one in which people from
different background and culture interact and
work as a team for
accomplisment of the project. They are encouragrd to work in a
collaborative manner
and show coordination through understanding
each other in a more better way. So through introducing a
cross
cultural project, the present diversity in the workfirce will be
retained and company might also invite
more diversed personnel and
make them the part of the project hence make an organizational more
culturally diversed. This will ensure that the organizations
attains and retains the culurally diverse staff and
make the
organization more flexible and effective.

Introducing a Diversity Program :

A diversity program will be introduced which will specifically


aim at increasing the diversity of organization
by inviting
applicants from various nations, religions , background, and
culture thus making the recruitment
process more open and
flexibile. The recruitment process will be reorganized if needed in
order to ensure
that the job positions are made available to all
who might be interested in job irrespective of where from
they are
or to what they belong. The diversity program will also call for
making the recruitment process
available online as well as offline
so that those who cannot visit the place at the particular time
will still be
able to connect to company and show their interest by
participating in interviews held online.

The program will further aim at increasing the number of women


employees working in the organization
by securing certain positions
for them.

The program will further involve creating a diversified working


environment providing a facility of
satisfying the needs of each
staff by providing suitable work environment that will be
appropriate as per
their culture and religion. Further for
enhancing creativity , thoughts and ideas from diversified staff
will be
encouraged.
