CHAPTER # 3
Problem No: 41
3
(E) At p=1.5Mpa, v=0.2095m /Kg. Find h, in
KJ/Kg.
SOLUTION
(A)
Since at 2Mpa i.e. 20 bar the corresponding temperature is
212.42ᵒC. So, the given steam is in superheated state.
From table A-4 (at 2Mpa)
u = 2736.4KJ/Kg at 280ᵒC
u = 2807.9KJ/Kg at 320ᵒC
By linear interpolation
320−280 2807.9−2736.4
=
300−280 u' −2736.4
u’ = 2772.15KJ/Kg
(B)
Since at 2.5Mpa (25 bar) the corresponding temperature is
223.9ᵒC. So, the steam will be in subcooled region.
From table A-5 (at 2.5Mpa)
u = 849.9KJ/Kg at 200ᵒC
(C)
h = 269.7 Btu/lb
(E)
Since at 1.5 MPa the corresponding volume lies between .
3 3
0011539m / Kg to .1318m /Kg in mixed vapor state. So, it will lie in
superheated region.
From table A-4
3
The given specific volume (v=.2095m /kg) lies B/w 400ᵒC and
440ᵒC at 1.5MPa. So, the corresponding enthalpy (h) also lies
B/w them.
By linear interpolation We first find the corresponding
temperature.
440−400 .2160−.2030
=
T ' −400 .2095−.2030
T’ = 420ᵒC
So, We can find the corresponding enthalpy.
440−400 3342.5−3255.8
=
420−400 u ' −3255.8
u’ = 3299.15KJ/Kg
