Why beach resort
 I want to design a beach resort because i have an interest in designing a

habitable space near a coastal region and a beach resort fulfils my goal.
 therefore, rather than 5 star hotels timeshare resorts cater mainly to leisure
tourists, families or individuals on holiday rather than business or educationally-
inclined tourists. Leisure tourists have a lot of time; they want to experience the
culture of the place they visit and enjoy the scenic beauty as well.
 Leisure involves both solitude and sociability, so the resort will be a place for
visiting a range of cultural and relaxing activities such as making your own fishing
net and a boat to go into sea, feni and port wine brewing or read up about the
goan life in a quaint library or tickle your creative bones making sandcastles.
AIM:
To design a beach resort which demonstrates the culture and heritage of the
rameshwaram? To design cool spaces which gives them a sense of enclosure and
belongingness to resort and make them feel comfort and luxury.
OBJECTIVES:
 To analyse the site, study the topography and the climatic conditions.
 study the bye laws of
 Do a live case study to cover all the aspects of a beach resort and make
analytical study of the functional requirements of resort and implement efficient
design to carry out the functions smoothly.
 To study about spatial organization and areal need of resort programs and
provide a recreational environment for the resort through varieties of facilities and
functions.
 To provide hospitality for both domestic and foreigner tourists.
 Create an interactive ground for locals and visitors so that there may be
interchange of ideas and cultural demonstration.
 The ultimate objective is to attain unique resort design with all the knowledge and
skills that is learned throughout four years of learning. The final design should be
free from all the design anomalies.
 To create an interactive platform for locals and visitors so that there may of ideas
and demonstration.
 Hospitality for both and local and foreign tourists.
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS:
THE SCOPES OF THE PROJECTS ARE-
 To study the multi various spaces of a resort and their inter dependencies and
interaction with each other.
 The scope of the project topic are the gallery and workshop , resort with
recreation facilities.
 Study and incorporation of local materials which comply with the favourable
conditions of the climate and enhance and accentuate the aesthetics.
 Study of construction techniques to be applied keeping in mind the soil
conditions.
 To study and adhere the coastal regulations to protect the environment and the
guest and to develop the effect spaces.
 For the tourism it will function as a luxurious resort which provides all the facilities
within its boundary so as to make their stay pleasing and exotic
 It will promote resort tourism and encourage foreigner to come and just stay in
resort
 It will enhance tourism sector of country.
 To study and hold fast the costal regulations to protect the environment and the
guests.
THE LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECTS ARE-

Beach resort is planned to execute in the site at rameshwaram. There are very less
amount of lodges for the tourist to stay and very few museum are present. This project
is limited to have energy efficient building with the special study called sustainability.
 Only the land area, with the approved project clearances is available for
development.
 The designing aspect will be constrained to the activities inside the resort only;
the beach will not be taken under any sort of development.
 Services will not be studied in much detail.
 Restricted to the designing of spaces within the resort.
 Structural aspects will not be studied in detail.
NEED :
To provide proper adequate insfrastructure for the visitors who come from long
distance. To establish rameshwaram as a major torist spot.
Resort,spa generally subjects to seasonal tourism activities, should have positive image
through many aspects, in order to attract tourist and try to sustain it by time.
There are no particular space for the tourist with recreational facilities . It wil be a
amazing space for many tourist to stay and for many locals to get job opportunities.

SITE LOCATION :
 the site area is 12 acres.
 it lies in the taluka 'salcete'
 situated next to holiday inn resort and leela kempinski resort.
 situated along the cavelossim beach stretch at the covelossim village.
 cavelossim is approximately 13 kms from margao town(railways) and 30 kms

from dabolim airport.
 the site is situated in south goa along the arabian sea
 and has a 240m beach front.
 situated close to the national highway -66.
closely linked to two beach shacks ans restaurants

on the beach shore.
