Today's modern world pushes shoppers to their limits.

Advertising, promotions, offers

and consumer appeal leave anyone tempted to make more purchases or believe that

they need certain products.

But we must take into account three essential factors: Global warming and climate

change, shop consciously and buy only what is necessary.

There are more and more consumers, which leads to the depletion of the planet

Earth's natural resources, as well as its degradation and destruction. For this reason,

we must make more conscious purchases, research into the raw materials used by the

factories and how the products are produced. For example, I don't buy Nutella because

this company devastated a large part of the Amazon Forest, one of the biggest lungs in

the world.

You should only buy what you need, you shouldn't accumulate unnecessary and

useless products. We must preserve our products and not always be exchanging the

goods we have at home for new products with the same function, we often exchange

them for aesthetic or decoration reasons, this behavior is very irresponsible and harms

the entire planet.

Now, I am going to focus on some of the advantages/Pros:

When goods or services are required in a society, companies have to work harder to

produce those items and an endless cycle of buying and selling is created that allows

the economy to grow. Increasing production levels lead to more jobs. Increased

employment leads to better wages in local communities. Higher salaries lead to more

expenses. As the cycle continues to grow, the standard of living increases continuously.

However, When a society focuses on consumerism, the environment is usually the first

element to see degradation occur. When consumers focus on growing demand for

goods or services, the area's natural ressources come under pressure. Raw materials,

water and food products can suffer from shortages.

Moreover, Consumerism also results in excessive energy use. Besides this,

Consumerism encourages the use of chemicals known to damage the environment. In

short, consumerism does more harm than good to the environment.

In conclusion, Growing consumerism tends to distract societies from important values

such as integrity and serious social problems. Instead, there is a strong focus on

materialism and competition. People tend to buy goods and services they don't really

need in order to be at the same level or higher than anyone else.

in conclusion as can be seen, a vicious circle is created, from which only with a lot of

effort and an effective therapeutic treatment the subject can free himself.
Concluding the survival of our planet depends on the attitudes that humanity adopt in

the coming years.
