Chapter 1

Introduction

In our generation so many things are different. The advent of technology has

changed the way we live, work and spend leisure time. Computer was considered the

lifeblood of society; people are everywhere. And the advancement in discoveries, both

in hardware and software, keep coming, day in and out. Technology changes and

improves at a rapid pace and companies and institutions need to cope with it. This is

because as the latest knowledge of development in computer technology grows

people's standard increase. People seek and crave for betterment and more efficient

ways to accomplish tedious tasks. Large and small market companies adopt modern

technology in order to survive and compete with market demands.

Scheduling System or Scheduler is a computer application for controlling

unattended background program execution of jobs. This is commonly called batch

scheduling, as execution of non-interactive jobs is often called batch processing, though

traditional job and batch are distinguished and contrasted; see that page for details.

Modern job schedulers typically provide a graphical user interface and a single

point of control for definition and monitoring of background executions in a distributed

network of computers. Increasingly, job schedulers are required to orchestrate the

integration of real-time business activities with traditional background IT processing

across different operating system platforms and business application environments.

Background of the study

Pateros Technological College (PTC) is a local college located at College St. Sto.

Rosario Kanluran Pateros Metro Manila. PTC established in year 1993 with the

partnership of Technological College of the Philippines, PTC offers a four years degree

in Information Technology and Office Administration as well as two year course in

Computer Science and Office Administration those programs are under the UNIFAST

program of Commission on Higher Education where the students under this program

are no tuition fee and other payments in school. The other courses offered by PTC are

Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Business

Administration and the newest is Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information

System. Since its foundation, the school is committed to the development of the Filipino

youth, providing them with a high-quality education. PTC has an Executive Class

Program that provides educational opportunities for the out of school youth. Students of

PTC are given an education that will enhance their skills and knowledge and mold them

into future leaders who will contribute to the growth of their country. The vision of PTC is

to envision itself as an institution of higher learning which is strongly committed to the

holistic development of the students to improve their lives in particular and the society in

general.

The proponent will try to design a The Pateros Technological College is a local

college school in the Municipality of Pateros, that’s why most of the college students in

Pateros and nearby city are going to Pateros Technological College (PTC) to achieve

their dreams. But there are some courses that are not free and they need to pay their A
computer lab or Cyber Lab is a space which provides computer services to a defined

community. Computer labs are typically provided by libraries to the public, by academic

institutions to students who attend the institution, or by other institutions to the public or

to people affiliated with that institution.

Computer labs play a critical role in their ability to learn, access information and

complete work. Until every student has access to a personal device, computer labs can

help fill the gap in digital learning.

General Objective

The General objectives of this system is to develop a software entitled CyberLab

Scheduling System (PTC) that help the registrar to facilitate their work by back upping

and creating an organize schedule for the PTC students in different courses who will

use the CyberLab for their activities.

Specific Objective

1. To schedule the CyberLab Activity of the students.

2. To have an access in all of the task and schedule in CyberLab

3. To back up the schedule and time (in and out)

4. To back up and update the list of courses and arrangement of all their activities in
CyberLab.

Significance of the study

This system will provide a well organized schedule and task which is the

CyberLab Scheduling System of PTC, this will be a huge benefit to the registrar office.

The researchers design this system to help and to create a well organize scheduling

system in the School of Pateros Technological College. In this study, the researcher will

state the value of the good significance of the study and this are the following:

Schdulers typically provide a graphical user interface and a single point of control for

definition and monitoring of background executions in a distributed network of

computers. Increasingly, job schedulers are required to orchestrate the integration of

real-time business activities with traditional background IT processing across different

operating system platforms and business application environments.

Future Researchers. The project study will help future researchers to have an

additional knowledge when they want to know about this type of project. This project will

also serve as a supplementary information that can help the knowledge and skills

regarding to wireless technology.

Pateros Technological College. This project can be used for institution for the similar

project. This can be a guide to them if they want to have a Cashiering system for their

school. This can be also used as a basis when the future designer talking about the

wireless technology.
Scope and Limitation of the Study

Scope

The proponents were able to define the scope of the study to be able to know the

ability and the limitation. This study will focus on developing a system that can help the

workers on the registrar of PTC to facilitate their works. This system can provide:

● To schedule the CyberLab Activity of the students.

● To have an access in all of the task and schedule in CyberLab
● Back up the schedule and time (in and out)
● To back up and update the list of courses and arrangement of all their activities in
CyberLab.

Limitation

The limit of the system are the following:

● Once you didnt save all the recent activites and proceed on updating all the schedule

the system will automatically delete all the recent activities and schedule from the list.

● This system can’t access in online.
