Title Of The Product; Eggplant Crispy Bread

1.1 Rationale

In our current era, most teens and even the adults are being frustrated to
achieve a healthier lifestyle with no hassle and without consulting a
dietician. Consuming just a half-bowl of rice in a day, controlling
yourself to eat chocolates and other sweets are not enough to have a
healthy eating habits.

Bread was the most significant sustenance for everybody who have their
proper diets. In a reason that they are afraid to intake too much carbs. But
is a simple bread enough to maintain your health and weight?

Infusing a snappy features of bread with eggplant flavor is my method to


solve the unhealthy way of diet. Promoting my product, Eggplant Crispy
Bread will not only gives benefits to the consumer but also to the farmer
industries who plant and sold the said the perrenial herbs.

1.2 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY (PRODUCT RESEARCH)

Bread with cheese, chocolate and vanilla were already common to our
sense of flavor. The purpose of this product proposal is to promote bread
with vegetable flavors. Eggplant Crispy Bread can sate our hunger in just
few bites compare to our breads that have low nutritional content.In this
pandemic year, most of us were stressed while facing different struggles
in everyday living. It can give a detrimental effect to our mental and
physical health. To overcome this, we should eat healthy foods. Eggplant
Crispy Bread can replenish our unhealthy body with energies. The
researcher does not only promote his product but also gives benefits to
the customers and farmer industries who planted and sold the said
perennial herbs.
1.3 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The purpose of this research is to promote bread with vegatable flavors to


the market and to persuade customers who opted unhealthy food products
than healthy foods. Specifically, to determine the possible problems of
this product.

Bread can last long in a year, depends in how it processed. But since my
product has a vegetable fillings there's a possibility that it can only
preserve for a weeks or months.

Additionally, it also aims to analyze the marketing and financial aspect of


the studies.

1.4 Conceptual Framework

In this part, the researcher will elucidate how Eggplant Crispy Bread was
produced, what are the ingredients needed, materials to be used.From the
financial aspect of the business in this area it includes conducting the
surveys/interview about the said product's supply and demand if it will be
in favourable in market and customers.
In the financial aspect, it includes the sources of funds and total expenses
that used to made this product.

[1] According to Stephanie Watson from WEBMD website, Eggplant has


a rich, meaty inside that takes on a creamy consistency when you cook it.
The hearty texture makes it a good stand-in for meat.3.5-ounce (100-
gram) serving of eggplant has Calories: 25,Protein: 1 gram,Fat: 0.2
grams,Carbohydrates: 6 grams and Fiber: 3 grams.
It also serves vitamins such as Folate: 22 micrograms,Vitamin A: 23
IUs,Vitamin C: 2.2 milligrams and Vitamin K: 3.5 micrograms. Eggplant
also contains minerals like Calcium: 9 milligrams,Iron: 0.23
milligrams,Magnesium: 14 milligrams, Phosphorus: 24 milligrams and
Potassium: 229 milligrams.The eggplant has been an ingredient in
traditional medicine for thousands of years. In the ancient Indian system
of ayurvedic medicine, practitioners used white eggplant to treat diabetes
and the roots to relieve asthma.[2] From holar website, there's kitchen
ingredient that can prevent food from early spoilage. Salt is a naturally
occurring substance whose chemical name is sodium chloride. The use of
salt to preserve food, better known as salting, is a pre-historic practice. It
can be traced back to several thousands of years ago.

Sugar is a naturally occurring substance that exists in the form of


carbohydrates. Its use in food preservation dates back to ages ago. It is
used in food items such as jellies, jams, chutneys, and conserves to
prevent them from deteriorating. Lemon and lime are organically
occurring and can be used to enhance the quality and prolong several
goods’ shelf life.Olive oil is an organically occurring preservative that
prevents the deterioration of food items by making them airtight. It
provides a seal that retards oxidation and molding.Vinegar,it rose out of
the need to have an easy way to preserve food for long voyages and
export. It was the first written down use of vinegar and vegetables,
pickling cucumbers.

Honey,the high concentrations of sugars on honey give it the ability to


remove water molecules from any bacteria or yeast cells. And Garlic,
putting a clove of garlic or some sliced garlic in your dip, soup, dressing,
or any other dish will help maintain harmful bacteria inactive and enables
your food to remain fresh for longer durations.
[3] From cheflerfoods website, Mayonnaise contains emollients and fats
which add moisture to chapped and rough skin. Topical application of
mayonnaise results in the removal of dead skin and soothes chapped lips,
feet, and elbows. It is also helpful in treating sunburnt skin as it soothes
the burnt skin and heals it.Mayonnaise has high Vitamin E content which
keeps the heart strong and healthy and prevents the occurrence of a
stroke. Mayonnaise rich in Omega – 3 has substantial benefits for the
heart.Mayonnaise contains the following important vitamins and
minerals:

Sodium
Selenium
Potassium
Selenium helps repair radical damage, strengthens the immune system,
and slows down the aging process. Potassium speeds up the metabolism
and regulates fluid balance. Sodium balances blood pressure and
regulates bodily fluids.

1.7 SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY.

The study will be conducted only in Nipa, Palanas, Masbate.


And will be base in marketing aspect of a business. The respondents will
be the teens and adults who having diets. It also involves conducting
surveys on consumers thoughts and comments about Eggplant Crispy
Bread.

1.8 METHODOLOGY

This chapter discussed about the research design, research locale wherein
the studies will be conducted,who will be the respondents, what's the
method to be used to collect data.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researcher will utilized the descriptive method through survey


questionnaires and short interview. This questionnaires will be given to
the selected respondents from baranggay Nipa who are having diets. They
will be guided using the questionnaires guidelines.

RESEARCH LOCALE

The questinnaires will be given only to the respondents who live in


baranggay Nipa.

In our baranggay, we have 7 purok(Section) so I decided to get 2


respondents from each section.

SOURCES OF COLLECTING DATA

The researcher collect information through primary data. By giving


questionnaires and having short interview to the respondents.

1.9 PRODUCTION PROCESS

2 cups all purpose flour plus one cup reserved


2 and 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
2/3 cup warm milk 105-115 F
4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
2 large eggs lightly beaten
10 pcs eggplant
5 cloves garlic
3 cups mayonnaise .

2 packs of breadcrumbs

Step-by-Step Procedure
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let this stand for
about 5 minutes, until the mixture looks creamy. Add the melted butter
and eggs to the bowl and stir.

Add the sugar, salt and 2 cups of flour to the bowl and stir everything
with a wooden spoon until incorporated. Gradually add some of the
remaining flour while stirring just to help with the stickiness, until a soft
dough gathers in the center of the bowl. You may not need the entire 1
cup of reserved flour.

Generously dust a work surface with flour. Turn the dough over. Knead
the dough for about 6-10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic, dusting
your hands and the board minimally with flour just to prevent too much
sticking. Shape the dough into a ball, cover it inside a large bowl. Let it
rise for 1 and 1/2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Meanwhile make the eggplant with mayonnaise fillings.

To made this you must boiled the eggplants from the hot medium water
for 5-8 minutes until it cook. When it is done strip it using the fork and
remove the head part. After that mixed it with beated eggs and
mayonnaise add some condiments like monosodium glutamate for a
better taste. Rolled it in a bread crumbs until the whole bread was
covered. Then you can fried this in a pan for 5 minutes. When you
finished you can already used it and out it on the bread as a fillings.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide to 15-16
portions. Flatten one portion with your palms and scoop 1/2 to 1
tablespoon of the filling in the center. Pull the edges of the flattened
dough over the filling to cover it and twist the ends together to seal the
dough, forming a smooth ball. Repeat with the rest of the portions.
Arrange the balls of dough in a greased 9x13 baking pan. Let them rise
for 40 minutes to 1 hour, until puffy and doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Brush the tops of the buns with the beaten egg.
Bake the honey buns for 15-20 minutes or until the buns are golden.
