carry wood and tools to the forest and they had chosen an old oak tree
which stood proudly in the middle of the forest. Its branches looked
strong and stretched out in all directions and its leaves gave shelter. It
took her father four weeks to build the tree house. Each day Rebecca
would go with him and help by passing tools or just sit and watch him
work. When the tree house was finished, her mother gave her some old
curtains to hang at the windows and some cushions to put on the floors.
Rebecca and her friends would spend every weekend at the tree house
making pictures to hang on the wall, taking photos, laughing and
playing. Each night she would come home with stories to tell her
parents as she stood under the branches of the oak tree, she could see
the curtains were cut, the pictures had faded, some of the wood round
the door was rotten and the ladder had disappeared. "What a

Pyramus
(Enters right.) That I am Pyramus, you can be sure. My love for Thisbe
proves that I am he.
Thisbe
(Enters left.) As my extraordinary beauty proves that I am Thisbe, truly,
I am she.
Wall
(Enters left.) With stone and mortar, I present a wall, the obstacle that
stands between the pair.
Cap’n
at Ninny’s tomb, the lovers planned to meet, unknowing that a noble
knight was there.
Sir George
(Enters right.) From distant lands come I, and on my shield, it’s clear to
see Sir George’s cross of red.
(Slasher and Dragon enter left.)
Slasher
He is no match against the Slasher’s blade, which comes here in pursuit
of George’s head!
(Slasher nudges Dragon to speak, but the timid Dragon, whimpering like
a puppy, takes cover behind its master.)
Slasher
Beside me stands a mercenary beast that slays my enemies at my
command.
(Quack clears his throat.)
Cap’n
But let us not forget our able Quack. My dear companion serves as my
right hand. When others are in want of medicine, our knowledgeable
Quack restores their health.
(Cap’n claps, prompting all, except Goblin and Gremlin, to exit back the
way they came.)
Cap’n

execute with stealth.
(Cap’n and Quack exit right.)
115

Goblin
you wonder if the dragon is to speak?
Gremlin
Why shouldn’t he? So many jackals do.
Wall
(Enters left and stands center.) So still stand I, you’d think I had no soul,
but in my jagged stones… (Makes a hole with his fingers and peers
through it.) …there is a hole, through which the lovers, Pyramus and
Thisbe, did whisper, often very secretly… (Positions the hole in its
proper place.) …and here that chink is, right and sinister, through
which the fearful lovers are to whisper.
Goblin
wiser walls I’ll bet you’ve never met.
Gremlin
Well, not today, but it is early yet.
Pyramus
(Enters right.) O darkest night! O night with hue so black! O night,
which always is when day, is not. O night, O night! (Faces
right.) Alack. (Faces center.) Alack. (Faces left.) Alack. I fear my Thisbe’s
promise is forgot! And you, O wall, O sweet, O lovely wall that stands
between her father's ground and mine! O wall, O wall, O sweet and
lovely wall, show me your chink, to blink through with my eye!
(Wall uses his fingers to present the hole.)
Pyramus
I thank you, wall, most heartily for this! (Peers through the
opening.) But what see I? No Thisbe do I see. O wicked wall, through
which I see no bliss! (Kicks Wall.) Cursed be your stones for so
deceiving me!
Goblin
(To Wall.) You oughtn’t to be a weak and passive wall.
Gremlin
you ought to curse him back. He has such gall!
Pyramus
(Breaks character, explains.) Oh, no. You meddling monsters, it should
not! The phrase “deceiving me” is Thisbe’s cue. She is to enter now, and
we’re to greet each other through the wall. Just wait and see. It will
occur exactly as I’ve said.

Will Scarlet. They were peasant; they didn't have enough money to give
to the nobles. The nobles took their lands and forced them into labour, so
they ran away to live in the forest. There was a giant man behind Robin,

Robin, scarlet, Midge and little John realized that they had something in
common; they are enemies of all that is unjust and unfair.
They will fight against injustice and they will fight for paupers.

Sherwood Forest. Robin became known with Robin Hood.

Summary
The Abbot squalled and expelled the knight when the knight begged
him. Then the knight dropped the gold onto the hall's floor.
The knight would have repaid the debt and served the Abbot faithfully.
The Abbot took the four hundred pounds of gold and handed the papers
of the land to the knight.
The knight decides to repay the money that he borrowed to Robin, after a
year. The knight's gift to Robin was some arrows.
On the way, the knight watched a wrestling match between the son of a
nobleman and a peasant. The peasant was so strong and defeated the
nobleman easily. And the prize was a pound in gold and the nobleman
would not pay. The judge of that contest drew his sword and threatened
to kill the peasant for what he perceived as impudence. The knight took
that peasant to join Robin Hood and his men. And the peasant agreed,
because the noblemen would revenge him later.
Robin considered the four hundred pounds a gift for the knight, because
he will not accept a penny from a man who stands up for justice.

7- Reading:
Mrs. Doran is our teacher. Everyone likes her. On Tuesday,
Mrs. Doran held up a big bottle with lots of colored string inside it. It
had a lid sealed with sticky tape. “We are going to have a competition
called, ‘Guess the length of the Piece of String.” It’s ten cents a guess,”
she said. Then she asked us who would like to take the jar home on the
weekend, and then Mrs. Doran picked me. I put the jar on the kitchen
bench. I looked at it and thought, ‘I wonder how long the string is?”
There was such a lot of sticky tape wound around the top. In the
kitchen drawer I found a measuring tape, a roll of sticky tape, and some
scissors. I picked up the jar and looked at it. I started to unwind the
sticky tape. I unscrewed the lid. I stretched out the string beside the
measuring tape. I measured it. It was 86 centimeters. But then I felt
miserable. I wished I hadn’t measured it. I picked up the scissors and
cut off some of the string. I put the string back in the jar, and put some
new sticky tape around it. With the jar in my hand, and there was Mum.
“Oh, did you measure the string, Max? “Yes. I just had to know how long
it was!” “Max, you‘ll have to tell Mrs. Doran.” On Monday I told Mrs.
Doran. She just smiled and said, “Thank you for telling me, Max . . .”

Once upon a time, dogs, cats, and mice were friends. Then, one day, the
dogs had to go away on a trip. “We have some important papers, “they told the
cats. “Will you look after them for us?” “Yes,” said the cats. “We will keep them
safe for you.” When the dogs had gone, the cats said, “We have nowhere to keep
the papers.
Let’s give them to the mice.” “Will you look after these papers for us?” the cats
asked the mice. “Yes,” said the mice. “We’ll look after them for you.” Winter came.
The mice were cold. They nibbled at the papers and made little nest to keep
themselves warm. Then, one day, the dogs came back. “We’ve come for our
papers,” they said to the cats. “We had nowhere safe to keep
them,” said the cats. “We gave them to the mice.” The cats went to the mice.
“The dogs are back,” they said. “We’ve come for the papers. When they saw
what the mice had done, the cats were very angry. They chased every mouse
they saw. The cats went back to the dogs. “The mice did not look after your
