1. (a) What are the opportunities and threats confronting the business? (10 marks)

Opportunities for Quali- teeze include:

- Customer loyalty may be increased by assisting charity. – When customers understand

that Quali-teeze's goal is to aid charities, they will form a connection with the firm and

become more loyal to them, resulting in repeat purchases. According to Forbes, “nearly

47% of consumers worldwide report they will be more loyal to a company that supports a

social or environmental issue that is close to their hearts. 53% of consumers admit they

would recommend such a company's products or services to others”.

- Donations are Tax- Deductible: If Cynthia and Akiel donate to charitable organizations,

the amount they donate is tax- deductible. Such expenses can lower your tax bill and

reduce taxable income.

- Entrepreneurship education – another opportunity that they can benefit from is them

willingness to help teach about how to start and run a business as well as keeping it more

sustainable. It is great that they can encourage other people to follow in their footsteps.

- Both are veteran business owners. – Cynthia and Akiel had both previously founded and

run their own companies. They also collaborated to start their own business. This is a

fantastic chance for them because they can both utilize their skills to improve their

business. They are both creative and can come up with new ways to develop the

company.

Threats to Quali-teeze include:


- Uncertainty about which groups to target - this is a risk because if they do not plan and do

necessary research, they may target the wrong target market, failing to accomplish their

goals and generate any sales.

- Expensive - Cynthia and Akiel are charging a premium for their shirts since they are of

great quality. However, this poses a risk since consumers may not purchase it because

their competitors offer better options. There are less expensive shirts on the market.

There are also imported shirts marketed at the same price as Quali-teeze by firms with

strong brand awareness and consumer loyalty.

- Business model – the business model might be a danger since it is popular but has never

received widespread support in local markets. It is also extensively criticized since the

initiatives are perceived to be aimed to alleviate the guilt of affluent customers rather than

addressing the core causes of society issues.

- The firm choose the unsuitable charitable organization- if something goes wrong with the

charity, the company's reputation suffers.

(b) Which customer group(s) should the business target? (10 marks)

- Consumers from a higher socioeconomic level – this should be the primary target market. It

will be comprised of working professionals and non-working persons between the ages of 25 and

35. These consumers should be targeted since they have the necessary money and can purchase

the higher-priced apparel.

-Teenagers and young adults - the majority of shirts are purchased by young people. These

individuals will range in age from 15 to 30 and will constitute the secondary market. Even if they
do not have the necessary cash to purchase the shirts, brand awareness and the positive sentiment

behind the brand will entice them to buy anything.

2. What marketing strategies would you recommend for Quali-Teeze? (20 marks)

The marketing strategies that should be included are:

- Digital marketing – Cynthia and Akiel should consider opening an online marketplace. This is

the greatest option because it is the most affordable. The majority of the capital must be allocated

to the materials required manufacturing the clothing. They can start with an internet website and

eventually expand to a brick-and-mortar store or selling in retail stores. They will need to drive

traffic to their website once they have created the online store. They can do this through the use

of social media marketing and internet marketing. Social media marketing may be employed by

building profiles on platforms like as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter that are relevant to the

target audiences. They will donate ads, clothing, and even trips to other charity. It is critical that

they publish advertisements on multiple websites for internet marketing. More preferably, sites

that their target market may be visiting. This is a great way to generate leads and get traffic to

their website and furthermore increase sales. Sites that their target market is likely to visit are

preferable. This is an excellent approach to create leads, drive traffic to their website, and

improve sales.

- Celebrity endorsements – Quali – teeze will be keeping the same price of their shirts

despite having competition from local and foreign companies. Therefore, they would

need to establish their brand recognition. The use of celebrity endorsements will increase
brand awareness which will hopefully increase sales. Cynthia and Akiel will partner with

either a celebrity or a social media influencer to gain awareness of the brand. They can

work out a contract with them where the celebrity wears the clothing and posts pictures

and videos on their social media platforms. They can also get a positively viewed

celebrity whose identity matches their own. This will build trust among consumers. They

can hire someone like Freetown Collective whose identity is all about spreading

positivity and helping others which falls perfectly in line with Quali – teeze.

Partner Marketing- If they combine their resources to grow their brands, partnering with another

firm or organization that has a similar target audience can assist them both enhance their reach

and marketing skills. Complimentary goods and services are a good place to start. They may

create win-win scenarios for both parties by sharing email lists, swapping blogs, bundling

services, or even co-branding campaigns, advertisements, or sponsorships.
