LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, I can:
a) discuss clearly the origin and cultural
background of selected Philippine
Festivals through class discourse;
b) demonstrate correctly the Sinulog
Festival dance through an individual
video presentation; and
c) recognize the importance of Philippine
Festivals through class sharing
The Importance of Fitness

Fitness plays a very crucial role in our existence


as human beings. It allows us to overcome challenges
of our daily living. It is with fitness that our eagerness
to do things that we are capable of doing physically
arise, which leads us in making our own lives as well
as others’ better and more productive. Festival
Dancing is one way to enhance fitness.
FESTIVAL DANCE

Festival dances are cultural dances performed to the


strong beats of percussion instruments by a community of
people sharing the same culture usually done in honor of a
Patron Saint or in thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest.

It may be religious or secular in nature. It also draw


the people’s culture by portraying their ways of life through
movements, costumes and props.
