This document provides guidelines for installing and operating a Re-Absorption Limiting (RAL) unit. It specifies that the hydraulic piping and circuitry should be installed according to the provided drawings. The hydraulic cylinder is supplied by a separate vendor and flexible hoses connect it to the hydraulic lines. The document instructs to use ISO VG46/68 hydraulic oil and pre-charge the accumulator to 90 bar. It provides instructions to operate the RAL flap at normal crushing rates with 100-120 bar of hydraulic pressure and notes the expected and maximum lift of the RAL unit.

Document – Re-Absorption Limiting (RAL) unit operation guidelines
1) Hydraulic piping should be done as per the drawing no MP-5406-1/A, the
pipe & pipe fitting should be leak proof. All piping to be supported properly as shown in installation drawing no. MP-5377-1/0. 2) For RAL unit hydraulic circuit arrangement, please refer to the drawing no. MP-5225-3/A. 3) For hydraulic cylinder refer to the drawing received from the M/S Hydrotech industries. Rod end of the hydraulic cylinder is fitted to the floating flap and Piston end of the hydraulic cylinder is fitted to the fabricated bracket welded with the head stock. 4) A flexible hydraulic hose with ½ inch NB fitting is fitted at piston end nozzle connection to supply hydraulic oil to the cylinder. This facilitates free movement of floating flap against the accumulator pressure when Baggasse is forced through the RAL unit. 5) Oil connection at rod end of cylinder should never be plugged. A ½ inch NB reinforces plastic flexible pipe (metal braided if available is preferred) is connected to the cylinder. A breather is connected to the free end of the pipe with at the free end with hose connector & hose clip. The breather is to be fixed at a higher level to the service gangway hand rail away from the bagasse, dust, running water spray & moisture. 6) Mineral oil-ISO VG46/68 Hydraulic oil is to be used.

7) RAL flap to be put in to operation with hydraulic load after stabilization of
constant crush rate. 8) After stabilization of constant crush rate the bagasse moisture & pol in bagasse to be analyzed. Depending on results, the adjustment in oil pressure between 100 to 120 bar to be done to achieve desirable results.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS DURING THE OPERATION OF RAL
UNIT:-
1) Initially the accumulator to be pre charged at a pressure of 90 bar.
2) Hydraulic oil circuit is to be charged at 100 bar with existing power pack. 3) At no load the position of RAL flap as shown in drawing no. MP- 1301-0/0. 4) At normal crushing rate the position of RAL flap as shown in drawing no. MP-1301-0/0. 5) Normal expected lift of the RAL unit is approx. 10 mm & the maximum accidental lift upward is 25 mm.
