    1. The Army Officers' Benevolent Fund provides a one-time lump sum grant, called a Platinum or Demise grant, to subscriber members upon reaching age 75 or upon death. 2. The grant amount depends on the length of commissioned service, ranging from Rs. 12,500 for 5-10 years of service to Rs. 50,000 for 20+ years or dying in service. Prior service and service in other ranks does not count. 3. Only regular army officers who subscribe to the fund are eligible for grants. Grants are not provided to officers of TA/SS or state forces as they do not subscribe.

    ARMY OFFICERS' BENEVOLENT FUND : FOR ARMY OFFICERS ONLY

    1. Army Ofhcers' Benevolent Fund (AOBF) is contributory fund which was instituted wef
    01 Apr 1951 for regular officers and wef 01 Mar 1964 for non regular (non PRC) officers. The
    AOBF provide only one time lump sum grant to the subscriber member either Platinum grant
    on attaining the age of 75 years or Demise grant to NOl?nominee/legal heir on demise of the
    subscriber, which ever is earlier. The Platinum/Demise grant is based on the subscribed
    commissioned service wef 0l Aus1997 is as under:-

    (a) Less than 5 years service - Nil


    (b) 5 to less than 10 years - 12,5001-
    (c) 10 to less than 15 years - 25,0001-
    (d) 15 to less than 20 years - 38,000/-
    (e) 20 years and more - 50,000/-
    (D Dying in harness - 50,000/-
    (g) Invalided out irrespective of length - 50,000/-
    of service
    2. Period of ante-date seniority, prior-granting PRC and JCOs/OR service will not be
    counted towards the total service for grant. Non PRC offrs prior 01 Mar 1964 will only be
    eligible for grant on becoming PRC and eligible to subscribe to AOBF. AOBF does not provide
    any grant at the time of retirement/release/invalided out. JCOsiOR and their NOKs are not
    eligible for any benefit from AOBF. Pre commissioned service is not counted towards the
    eligibility of grant.

    3. The grant is not applicable to TAA{CC/MNS and State Forces officers as they are not the
    subscriber to AOBF.
