medical services to members of Saudi Arabian Armed forces and their dependents.
JCI and Central Board for Accreditation Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) accredited.
Admits/receives patient from emergency department and/or trans-in patient from other
departments and/or hospitals.
Check vital signs, height, weight, and perform general physical assessment and record on
patient’s file.
Carries doctors order such as:
o Administration of oral, intravenous/subcutaneous/intramuscular/intradermal
medications, infusions and/or intravenous fluids.
o Administration of fleet/soap suds enema.
o Administration of blood and blood products/blood transfusion.
o Adiministration of bolus and continuous enteral feeding (NJT/NGT/PEG).
o Blood glucose monitoring
o Oxygenation, nebulization
o Blood extraction
o Specimen collection i.e urine, stool culture, nasal swab etc.
o Intake and output monitoring via foley catheter, condom catheter, urinal collection,
chest tube drainage, ascitic/abdominal drainage.
Assists doctors in performing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures such as:
o Ascitic/abdominal tapping, tracheostomy re-insertion, bedside lumbar puncture,
diabetic foot wound care/dressing.
Performs nursing procedures/task such as:
o Intravenous cannulation, nasogastric tube insertion, and foley catheter insertion.
o Oral catheter suctioning and closed system suctioning of patient with connected to
mechanical ventilator.
o 12 lead ECG.
o Tracheostomy care, oral care, colostomy care, wound care/wound dressing.
o Bathing bedridden and assisted patient with high risk.
o Prepares patient for discharges, conducts health teaching, refers to multidisciplinary
team as needed.
o Refers any unusual/abnormalities to the physician following the SBAR guidelines.

Assists and teaches patient with walking aids such as wheelchair, cane and walker.

Assists patient in doing activity of daily livings (ADL’s) such as bathing, dressing, feeding,
transferring and toileting especially for high risk for fall and assist patients.
Monitors patient on post hemodialysis, and post codes.
Accompanies patients to other department (inter/intra facility) for certain procedures such
as X-ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, OGD/colonoscopy, perm catheter insertion, and transfer
to other unit and/or other hospitals.
Accompanies doctors during assessments/doctor rounds and acts as patient’s advocate.
Maintains good interpersonal relationship with patients, patient’s relatives, superiors,
subordinates and hospital staff.
Maintains medical and aseptic techniques in carrying all nursing care to the patients.
Complies with Infection Control, IPSG, Quality Assurance Guidelines, and Hospital policy and
procedures.
