Beed 1 A.

The speaker is a kind, compassionate teacher who believes in love, faith and hope. The speaker is addressing herself, reflecting on her observations in the classroom and lessons about love, hope, failure and perseverance. The purpose of the poem is to encourage teachers to be themselves and endure difficulties, which will be worthwhile due to their passion for teaching. The line "At the present, I am learning bit by bit" is the favorite as it highlights the importance of persevering through learning from mistakes.

BEED 1-A

December 12, 2021

Activity No. 4
Read and analyze the poem, “You are a Teacher”. After which, answer the following questions:

1. Who is the speaker of the poem? What kind of person is he/she?

- The speaker is a teacher, a kind, God-centered teacher who believes that love, faith,
and hope endure all things, a teacher who makes mistakes because no one is perfect,
and a teacher who is very compassionate about teaching.

2. To whom is the speaker speaking, or in other word, who is the audience?

- The speaker is speaking to herself, explaining her observations in her class and
discussing teaching topics like as love, hope, failures, and how to persevere in the
face of adversity.

3. What is the purpose of the poem?

- The poem's objective is to encourage all teachers to be themselves since you will be
the one to answer those questions about teaching that you have, such as how you
endure through difficulties that will one day become worthwhile because of your
passion for your job and your students.

4. Which line of the poem do you like most? Why?

- "At the present, I am learning bit by bit," is my favorite line because it emphasizes the
importance of perseverance in learning; everyone makes mistakes because no one is
flawless. What matters is how you handle failures and grow over.
