1. INTRODUCTION
2. TEST DETAILS
Tests were conducted on selected point of each structure. For every structure, the
number and the location of points for testing were directed and guided by costumer
officials. All the tests at field were witnessed by the officials of costumer officials.
For UPV test, direct and indirect measurements were recorded. Rebound Hammer tests
were conducted at 10 spots (minimum 25 mm apart) for each point. On total, 87 points
were tested for both rebound hammer and ultrasonic pulse velocity.
Concrete carbonation test was carried to determine the extent of carbonation caused
by CO2 on the structure.
The details of the reading and photographs of testing are attached in annexure.

a. As per IS: 13311 (Part II): 1992, clause no. 8.1, “The estimation of strength of
concrete by rebound hammer method cannot be held to be very accurate; and
probable accuracy of predictions of concrete strength in a structure is ± 25 %”
4. CONCLUSSION
5. RECOMMENDATIONS
Grouting of slab & abutments is recommended with no-shrink epoxy grout and its
quality should be ensured.
The design of the existing bridge is recommended to be verified by structural
engineer for the above given strength and quality of concrete as per the future
loading conditions.
The structure should be protected against carbonation by applying suitable
surface treatment to prevent ingress.
Authorized Signatory
The above result relates only to the location(s) were the test(s) has been conducted.
Any query regarding report may be reported immediately.
