Dear Students
With the summer break just around the corner, it becomes important for each one of us to plan ahead about how
we intend to productively utilise our time. Among various activities one may plan to do, it is imperative to stay in
touch with our academics. The following homework has been designed to keep you engaged meaningfully, while
also achieving the learning outcomes of the subjects. While we hope you enjoy your summer break and spend
unforgettable time with friends and family, make sure you devote sufficient time to your academics and complete
your homework well in time for submission.
With this, we wish you a joyous summer break and fun filled time with friends and family. We will see you on the
other side of this break, rejuvenated and brimming with energy, to take this year forward.

Holiday Homework

General Instructions:

Subject: English
Margie and Tommy live in the year 2137. Imagine yourself to be living in the same year.
How would your life be different from the present time? Write in detail about it. You may
use the given cues;
● Which planet do you think you would be living on?
● What would your normal day be like?
● In this story education is taken care of by Artificial Intelligence. What other arenas
of your life do you think would be governed by AI?
● What kind of jobs would your parents be doing?
● What will the world outside your home look like?
● Will there be social interactions and gatherings or will it be a virtual affair?
You may use these and more hints from your workbook Words and Expressions Part 1/
Unit 1. Give wings to your imagination and write about it in about 200-300 words. Use an
A4 sheet. You may use illustrations, cuttings to make your work aesthetically appealing.
The child is engulfed with the free spirit of the fair day and everything he sees around him
seems to be from a different world. Put yourself in the boy’s shoes, take his place in the
story and narrate what happens further from the boy’s perspective. You may conclude the
story in any way you want. Write it in about 100-150 words on an A4 sheet. You may use
illustrations.
Date and Mode of A hard copy is to be submitted once the school commences after the vacation.

Objective: To provide the students a broad understanding of the physical principles of the universe.
To help them develop critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills.
Biology
To provide the students with the understanding of concepts of Biology and make them
recall the topics covered so far. To give them an opportunity to learn by being innovative
and putting forth their ideas in creative and interesting ways.
Tasks: Chemistry
1.Design your own activity to explain the given characteristics of Matter:-
compressibility,Diffusion(solid in liquid and liquid in liquid) ,shape
2. Introduce the fourth and fifth state of matter and write a brief note it..
3.Make a colourful diagram to show the arrangement of particles in a solid ,liquid and
gas.
Physics
1 Calculate least counts of at least two voltmeters of different ranges. Should be
accompanied with photographic evidence.
2 Giving instances from daily life , cite at least 5 examples of
i ) uniform motion
ii ) non uniform motion. Depicting with the help of pictures.
Biology
1. Make a Poster/ Comic Strip on the topic “Merits of using Biofertilizers for
sustainable production of Crops”
A. Poster should be made on an A4 sheet.
B. Be creative and write a slogan on the given topic.
C. You can use coloured pencils, watercolours and oil pastel
colours.
D. Clearly mention essential details like Name, class,section , Roll
No. on the bottom of the Poster.
E. Slogan should be written on the top of the sheet.
Biology
Third week of July.
File- Attach the poster and the worksheet in the same file. These two activities are a part
of Portfolio.

To enable students to understand the significance of symbols as a means of communication.
To be able to connect to the past in a creative manner.

Objective:

Objective: Students will gain knowledge regarding the Indian Folk Art forms. Drawing and sketching can be
used by anyone as a means to decompress and fine tune a range of critical thinking skills.The
personal development and problem-solving skills that emerge from uninterrupted sketching can
be applied to everyday occurrences.
Tasks: Students are requested to complete the three tasks given below. They can take complete tasks
with their own pace and can use materials which are readily available at ther respective homes.
1) Paint any topic of your choice with acrylic paints on canvas board of any size.
2) Madhubani painting on A3 size sheet and laminate it.
3) Any water colour painting on A3 size handmade paper.
Do all 3 topics. Works submitted by students will be evaluated after school premises re-open after
the summer vacation.
