1. DESCRIPTION
This bulletin is issued to inform partial repair availability of Rear wheel hub bearing assembly, which aims to
replace Rear Wheel speed sensor cap when the following DTC occurs.

NOTE
- Select a Special Service Tool (SST) by referring to the following table.
- If only of the following DTCs occurs, make sure to repair the wheel sensor cap only rather than
replacing the hub bearing assembly.

4. SERVICE PROCEDURE
CAUTION
- Use a cloth not to damage the hub bearing
assembly when clamping it in a vise.
- Do not apply excessive force to prevent damage
to the hub bearing assembly.

3. Check the direction of the sensor cap connector
(B).

CAUTION
- Check the direction of the sensor cap connector
before disconnecting.

CAUTION
-Be careful not to damage the hub bearing
assembly while hammering.
- In order to widen the gap little by little, hammer
the sensor cap 10-20 times by changing a scraper
position.
-Remove the sensor cap in a straight direction not
to damage the tone wheel or encoder.

5. Check the tone wheel or encoder (D) for distortion
or damage.

CAUTION
-Remove and replace the sensor cap if the tone
wheel or encoder is damaged.
-A deformed tone wheel may result in warning
lamp illumination or other problems due to sensor
malfunction.
NOTE
- Sensor cap connector should face the same
direction that you checked before disassembly.
-Be careful so that no dust or foreign materials get
into the hub bearing assembly before installing
the sensor cap.

7. Install the sensor cap (G) using a SST (F).

NOTE
-Refer to the above SST table for selecting a right
tool. G
CAUTION
-Install the sensor cap correctly because tone
wheel or encoder may be damaged if not installed
balanced.
-When installing the sensor cap, keep hammering
it until the gap disappear between the sensor cap
and the hub bearing assembly.
