ALM(Application lifecycle management)
Project management tool :

1)We can handle the requirement
2)We can handle the Agile
3)We can handle the Scenarios and Test case
4)We can handle test case review
5)We can handle test case execution
6)We can handle defect tracking
7)We can handle generating execution reports.
8) We can prepare tracebility matrix.
All the data will be stored in the server.
Note : This ALM tool works only on Windows 10 OS with IE 10 and above browsers
Disadvantage : If we lost server connectivity or server crashed then we will loose
all the data,
We should have backup of all the data in ALM
Procedure to add trusted sites :Open internet explorer

1.Click on Browser settings
2.Click on Internet options.
3.Click on Security.
4.Click on Trusted sites >> Sites.
5.Enter the ip address http://122.166.192.191:2022 and uncheck the checkbox below,
click on add
6.Click on Close >> Ok.
Steps to write requirement in ALM :

1)Login with credentials
2)Click on Requirement dropdown
3)Click on Requirement link in LHN
4)Click on New folder icon >> enter folder name >> click on OK button
5)Select the folder and click on New requirement icon
6)Enter all the details name, priority , date, target release and cycle click on
Submit button
Steps to create Test case folder structure :

1)Login with credentials.
2)Click on Testing drop down list >> Click on test plan link
3)Select Subject and click on New folder icon
4)Enter the folder name(FT/IT/ST etc) and click on OK button >> Select the FT
folder > Click om
New folder > Create folder for Modules.
The folders will be created in Test plan.
Steps to write the test case :

1.Login with credentials.
2.Click on Test plan link
3.Select the folder >> FT/IT/ST >> Module name.
4.Click on New test icon, new test page will be displayed.
5.Enter the test name and date , click on OK button.
Under description add the test scenarios, Header and footer
6.Click on Design steps major tab.
7.Click on New step icon, new step page will be displayed
8.Enter all the details such as Description, input, expected result.
9.Click on Ok button.
The test case steps will be added successfully. Follow same procedure again to
write next step
Steps to export the test cases for review :

2.Click on Test plan
3.Select the test case.
4.Click on Design steps
5.Select any step and right click >> Export >> Save
The test case steps will be exported and saved in location.
Steps to do tracebility matrix :

1.Login with credential.
2.Click on test plan.
3.Select the test case.
4.Click on Requirement coverage major tab.
5.Click on Select requirement icon, requirement tree will be displayed.
6.Select the requirement and click on Add to coverage icon.
7.Click on Requirements >> Select requirement and click on Refresh button.
8.The direct cover status will change from not covered to No run or based on
execution status
changes
Steps to prepare execution folder and pull test cases for execution :
2.Click on Test lab, test lab page will be displayed.
3.Select root folder and click on New folder icon, new folder popup will be
displayed.
4.Enter the folder name(Release name) and click on Ok button, the folder will be
created and
displayed in left hand navigation.
5.Select the execution folder and click on new test set icon, new test set page
will be displayed.
6.Enter build id, open date, closed date and status, enter description, click on ok
button. Then
execution grid will be created and displayed.

7.In empty execution grid click on Select test case icon, test plan tree will be
displayed.
8.Select the test case from tree and click on Add tests to test set icon.
The test case will get added to the execution grid.
Steps to execute test case :

2)Click on Test lab link >> Test lab page will be displayed.
3)Select the execution folder and select the test case.
4)Click on Run icon, manual runner popup will be displayed. Go through the details
of test case
5)Click on Begin Run icon and start execution.
During execution we get status as Pass/Fail/NoRun/Blocked/N.A/Not completed
6)Click on End Run button.
Note:
NA >> When we have no results
Not completed >> We are pausing execution for a while we give this status
Steps to track defect after execution :

2)Click on Defects link, defect list page will be displayed
3)Click on New defect button
4)Enter the summary and click on Find similar defects, if not exisiting
5)Enter all other details and click on Submit button.
The defect will be created and displayed in Defects page with Unique id.
Steps to export defect report :
2)Click on Defects link, defect page will be displayed
3)Select the defect and right click >> Export >> All/selected
The report will be exported in form of excel.
Steps to generate execution report :

2)Click on Test runs
3)Select the particular execution
4)Right click >> Export >> Export All/Export Selected
The execution report will be exported to destination successfully.
