HISTORY OF REVIT ARCHITECTURE

➢ Revit was launched by PTC(Parametric Technology Corporation) on 31st oct 1991.


➢ They had named the software as CHARLES RIVER SOFTWARE.
➢ Later in the year 2002 Autodesk buyed the software for us 1.2Millon Dollars
➢ Charles river software was renamed as Revit building.
➢ Later in the year 2007 several other version of Revit were launched like Revit MEP &
Revit Sturcture.
➢ Even Revit building was renamed as REVIT ARCHITECTURE.
➢ Revit Architecture was launched keeping Architecture in mind.
➢ Now Autodesk is mother company of Revit Architecture.

Revit Architecture is known as Asia most leading BIM tool.

ABOUT REVIT –
➢ Revit is an exterior based software where we can do the exterior work easily and
beautifully.
➢ We can even use Revit for interior
➢ Here we have to follow the standards and limits for creations.
➢ Here we find everything readymade like doors, windows, furniture, etc.
➢ Can be exported to cadd for 2d plans which will helpful for working drawing.

TO TAKE A NEW PROJECT-


➢ In project column.
➢ Click on new
➢ Select the template file as ARCHITECTURAL TEMPLATE
➢ Click on ok.
(or)
➢ Directly click on ARCHITECTURAL TEMPLATE
➢ A new project will get open

CREATING LEVELS –
➢ In project browser, go to any one of elevation
➢ Go to architecture
➢ In ribbon bar, in datum panel, select level
➢ Select pick line from draw tools
➢ Give the required offect
➢ Select the previous level
➢ Level will be created.
➢ To rename the levels, double click on the level name and rename.
➢ Eg-

WALLS –
CREATING WALL –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1.
➢ Go to Architecture.
➢ Drop down Wall.
➢ Select wall Architectural.
➢ In property window, click on Edit type,
➢ Click on duplicate, give the name. eg- wall 9”
➢ Click on ok, click on edit
➢ In thickness column, change the thickness of the wall as required
➢ Click on ok apply ok

PLACING WALLS –
➢ Select the type of draw tool required
➢ Set the location (wall center line, finish face exterior, finish face interior)
➢ Place the wall as your requirement.
➢ Go to 3D

CHANGING WALL HEIGHT –


➢ Select the wall which you want to change the height.
➢ In property window, drop down top constraints select upto level 2
(for wall height to be as 10’)

MODIFY TOOLS –
1) MOVE –
➢ Select the object.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select MOVE
Note – if you want the object to be move in straight horizontal & vertical direction
Then on the CONSTRAIN option.
If you want to move only the selected wall then on the DISJOIN option.
➢ Select the basepoint of the object, move the object by giving the displacement value or
graphically.

2) COPY –
➢ Select the object.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select COPY
Note – If you want the object to be move in straight horizontal & vertical direction
Then on the CONSTRAIN option.
If you want to copy the wall more then one time then on the MULTIPLE option.
➢ Select the basepoint of the object, copy the object by giving the displacement value or
graphically.

3) ROTATE –
➢ Select the object.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select ROTATE
➢ Click on place, place the rotation basepoint where required
Note – If you want both rotated object as well as rotated object the select COPY.
➢ Select the opposite line of the wall
➢ Give the angle of rotation.
4) TRIM/EXTEND TO CORNER -
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select trim/extend to corner
➢ Click on the wall which is required, click on the other portion of the wall which is also
required
➢ Same with extend

5) TRIM/EXTEND TO SINGLE ELEMENT –


➢ Go to modify
➢ Select trim/extend to single element.
➢ Click on the refrence (destination) wall till where you w3ant to trim or extend.
➢ Select the wall which u want(opp wall will get trim)/ select the wall which you want to
extend.

6) TRIM/EXTEND TO MULTIPLE ELEMENT –


➢ Go to modify
➢ Select trim/extend to single element.
➢ Click on the refrence (destination) wall till where you w3ant to trim or extend.
➢ Select the wall which u want(opp wall will get trim)/ select the wall which you want to
extend.

7) DELETE –
➢ Select the wall which you want to delete.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select delete.

8) PIN –
➢ Select the wall which you want to pin.
➢ Go to modify, select pin (the wall will get locked)

9) UNPIN –
➢ Select the wall which you want unpin
➢ Go to modify, select unpin (the wall will get unlocked)

10) SPLIT WITH GAP –


➢ Go to modify.
➢ Select split with gap.
➢ Give the joint gap value.
➢ Split the point of wall where you need to split.

11) SPLIT ELEMENT –


➢ Go to modify.
➢ Select split element.
➢ Split the point of wall where you need to split.

12) ALLIGN –
➢ Go to modify.
➢ Select align.
➢ Select the reference plane where you want to align the object.
➢ Select the plane of the object which you want align.

13) OFFECT –
➢ Go to modify.
➢ Select offect
➢ Select the type
• Numerical
• Give the offect distance
• Select the wall from were you want to the offect.
• Graphical
• Select the source object
• Give the offect of the object as your requirement
14) MIRROR PICK AXIS – (Used when you have a ready made axis)
➢ Select the object.
➢ Go to modify.
➢ Select Mirror pick axis
➢ Select the axis of mirror

15) MIRROR DRAW AXIS –


➢ Select the object.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select Mirror draw axis.
➢ Show the first point of mirror line & show the second point of mirror line.

16) ARRAY –
➢ Select the object
➢ Select array
➢ Select the type of array
• LINEAR ARRAY –
• Click on linear.
• Select the Move to option (2nd or last)
• Select the basepoint of the object
• And give the displacement value
• Give the number of objects

• RADIAL ARRAY –
• Click on radial
• Click on place, place the center of rotation of array
• Give the array angle
• Give the number of objects neded.

17) SCALE –
➢ Select the object
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select scale
➢ Select the type-
• Graphical –
• Select the first end point of the wall, select the second endpoint of the wall.
• Scale the wall as your requirement.
• Numerical –
• Give the scale factor to scale the wall.
• Click on one of the endpoint of wall, from opp side it will get scale.

UNIT SETUP – (Short key (un))


➢ Set the units for length area volume as your requirement.

APPLYING SINGLE MATERIAL TO WALL-


➢ Select the wall for which you want to apply material.
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok
➢ Click on edit
➢ In material column click on “By category”
➢ Select the material type you want to apply (Eg-masonry)
➢ Select the material you want to apply (Eg-Brick)
➢ Click on add material to document
➢ Click on ok apply ok

APPLYING TWO MATERIAL TO SINGLE WALL-


1) VERTICALLY –
➢ Select the wall for which you want to apply material.
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok
➢ Click on edit
➢ Click on preview
➢ Drop down section, select Section modify type attribute
➢ Click on insert
➢ Change the thickness of the wall to differentiate the wall
➢ Add material to both the side of wall as your requirement.
➢ Click on ok apply ok

2) HORIZONTALLY –
➢ Select the wall for which you want to apply material.
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok
➢ Click on edit
➢ Click on preview
➢ Drop down section, select Section modify type attribute
➢ Click on split region
➢ Split the wall in preview for required height
➢ Click on modify
➢ Click on assign layers
➢ Click on insert
➢ Select the splited portion of the wall.
➢ Add material for both portion of the wall.
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

FLOORING –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture.
➢ Drop down floor select Floor Architectural.
➢ Using draw tools, draw the boundaries of the floor as your requirement.
➢ Click on finish.
➢ Go to 3D.
➢ To change the material or to change the thickness of the floor.
➢ Select the floor you have added.
➢ In property window, click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok
➢ Click on edit
➢ Change the thickness & add material as your requirement.

➢ Click on ok apply ok.


To edit the boundaries of the flooring-
➢ Select the floor which you want to edit
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Click on edit boundariers.

SECTION LINE –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1.
➢ Go to view/from quick access tool bar
➢ Select section.
➢ Place the section line as your requirement.

Flip arrow

➢ Note- Flip arrow is used to change the direction of section line


➢ To see the section view
➢ In project browser, drop down section select Section 1.

PLACING DOORS/WINDOWS -
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Select Door/Window.
➢ Click on load family.
➢ Select the family as Doors/Windows.
➢ Select the door/window you want to place.
➢ Place the door/window as your requirement.

Note – Space bar is used to change the direction of door panel.

Doors/windows are wall based family so it will be visible only on the walls.

TO ADD MATERIAL & TO CHANGE THE DIMENSIIONS OF


DOORS/WINDOWS
➢ Select the door/window you want to edit
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Change the dimensions & add material as your requirement.
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

PLACING COMPONENTS –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down component Select Place a component
➢ Click on load family.
➢ Select the family as your requirement. Eg-furniture
➢ Select the furniture you want to place.
➢ Place the component as your requirement.

Note – Space bar is used to change the direction of component.

TO ADD MATERIAL & TO CHANGE THE DIMENSIIONS OF


COMPONENTS
➢ Select the component you want to edit
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Change the dimensions & add material as your requirement.

➢ Click on ok apply ok.


PLACING COLUMNS –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down columns Select Column Architectural.
➢ Click on load family.
➢ Select the family as column
➢ Select the column you want to place.
➢ Place the column as your requirement.

TO ADD MATERIAL & TO CHANGE THE DIMENSIIONS OF


COLUMNS
➢ Select the column you want to edit
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Change the dimensions & add material as your requirement.
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

EDIT PROFILE –
➢ Rules of edit profile
• Box inside a box will make the inner portion hollow.
• From one point only two lines should pass.

PROCEDURE –
➢ Take a concept for edit profile.
➢ Decide the number of wall required for edit profile.
➢ Decide the thickness of the wall.
➢ Create the number of walls required.
➢ Place the wall.
➢ Go to 3d/elevation/section.
➢ Select the wall, adjust its height.
➢ Click on EDIT PROFILE.
➢ Using the draw tools draw the design for the wall as your requirement.
➢ Click on finish.

PAINT –
CREATING PAINT –
➢ Go to manage select material.
➢ Select the material as Plaster (or any which is having image fade option in that)
➢ Click on edit material option.
➢ Go to identity.
➢ Give the name of the paint your creating.
➢ Go to appearance.
➢ Make the image fade as “0”
➢ Click on colour.
➢ Select the colour as your requirement (for more shades to go pantone)
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

APPLYING PAINT –
➢ Go to modify.
➢ Drop down paint, select Paint.
➢ Select the paint you want to apply.
➢ Select the face of the wall where you want to apply the paint.

SPLIT FACE –
➢ Go to Elevation/Section.
➢ Go to Architecture.
➢ In work place panel click on set
➢ Select the work place as “Pick a plane”
➢ Click on ok.
➢ Select the plane which you are going to split (4 line indication)
➢ Go to modify.
➢ Click on split face.
➢ Select the wall which you are going to split.
➢ Using draw tools draw the area you want to split.
➢ Click on finish.

CREATE PARTS –
➢ Place the wall of required thickness
➢ Go to 3D/elevation/section

PLANE SETTING –
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ In ribbon bar In work place panel click on set
➢ Select the work place as “Pick a plane”
➢ Click on ok.
➢ Select the plane which you are going to split (4 line indication)
➢ Select the wall
➢ In create panel click on Create parts.
➢ Click on divide parts .
➢ Click on edit sketch.
➢ Using draw tools draw the design as your requirement.

➢ Click on finish finish.


CURTAIIN WALLS –
CURTAIN WALL-1 –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down selection bar
➢ In curtain wall section, select Curtain wall-1
➢ Using draw tools, place the curtain as your requirement.
➢ Go to 3D
➢ Go to front view(in3D)

ADDING CURTAIN GRIDS –


➢ Go to Architecture select curtain grids
➢ Place the curtain grids horizontally or vertically as your requirement.

ADDING MULLION –
➢ Go to Architecture select mullion
➢ Place the mullion on the curtain grids of the curtain wall as your requirement.
➢ To change the mullion
➢ Select the mullion drop down selection bar
➢ Select the type of mullion as your requirement
➢ To add material or to change the dimension.
➢ Select the mullion
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required
➢ Add material and ,make changes as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

SELECT ALL AT ONCE –


➢ Select the object
➢ Right click select all instance visible in view

EXTERIOR GLAZING –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down selection bar
➢ In curtain wall section, select Curtain wall-1
➢ Using draw tools, place the curtain as your requirement.
➢ Go to 3D
➢ Go to front view(in3D)
➢ Note – curtain grids are already in build in this wall
➢ To change the spacing between the curtain grids
➢ Select the wall
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Change the horizontal & vertical grid spacing as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.
➢ Add the mullion to the curtain wall on curtain grid.

STORE FRONT –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down selection bar
➢ In curtain wall section, select Curtain wall-1
➢ Using draw tools, place the curtain as your requirement.
➢ Go to 3D
➢ Go to front view(in3D)
➢ Note – curtain grids & mullion are already in build in this wall
➢ To change the spacing between the curtain grids & mullion
➢ Select the wall
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Change the horizontal & vertical grid spacing as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.

Embedded wall –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1.
➢ Go to Architecture. Select wall
➢ Place the basic wall of 9” as your requirement.
➢ Select curtain wall, place the curtain wall on wall as your requirement

➢ Go to 3D
➢ Adjust the height of the basic wall as your requirement.
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select cut geometry
➢ Select the basic wall & select the curtain wall
➢ Adjust the height of curtain wall as your requirement
➢ Add the curtain grids and mullion to curtain wall as your requirement.

ADDING CURTAIN DOOR –


➢ Go to architecture
➢ Select door click on load family
➢ Select the curtain door as your requirement open
➢ Select the beside mullion where you want to place the door (don’t click)
➢ Using tab key select the panel where you want to place the door
➢ Select the panel drop down selection bar
➢ Select the curtain door which you have added

(Note – same procedure for adding solid fill)


HIDE & UNHIDE IN VIEW –
➢ HIDE –
• Select the object.
• Right click hide in view Element
➢ UNHIDE –
• In status bar
• Click on reveal hidden element ikon. (pink line indicates for hidden element)
• Right click unhide in view element.

SECTION BOX –
➢ In 3D view
➢ In property window click on section box.

DECAL –
➢ Go to insert
➢ Drop down decal
➢ Click on decal type
➢ Click on create a new decal
➢ Give the decal name
➢ Click on ok
➢ Click on source ikon
➢ Select the decal image as your requirement
➢ Click on open ok
➢ Drop down decal select place decal.
➢ Place the decal as your requirement.
➢ To adjust the decal image
➢ In property window
➢ Untick the lock proportion
➢ Using grip points drag and adjust it

CELIING –
➢ Go to ceiling plan level 1
➢ Go to architecture
➢ Select ceiling
➢ Click on sketch ceiling
➢ Using draw tools, draw the ceiling design as your requirement
➢ Click on finish
➢ To add material or to change the thickness of ceiling
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Click on edit
➢ Change the thickness & add material as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.
➢ Adjust the height of ceiling as your requirement.

ROOFS –
1) ROOF BY FOOTPRINT –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Go to architecture
➢ Drop down roof select Roof by footprint.
➢ Using draw tools draw the boundaries of roof as your requirement.
SLOPED ROOF FLAT ROOF

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To add material or to change the thickness of roof
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Click on edit
➢ Change the thickness & add material as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.
➢ To edit the boundaries, select the roof which you have added
➢ Go to level 2
➢ In ribbon bar click on edit foot print.

2) ROOF BY EXTRUSION
➢ In project browser, go to any one elevation from where you want to do the path of roof
➢ Go to architecture
➢ Drop down roof select Roof by Extrusion
➢ In workplane specify the workplane as “Pick a Plane”
➢ Click on ok
➢ Select the plane from where you are going to draw the path (3 lines indication)
➢ Click on ok
➢ Using draw tools draw the path of roof as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To add material or to change the thickness of roof
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Click on duplicate give the name ok (if required)
➢ Click on edit
➢ Change the thickness & add material as your requirement
➢ Click on ok apply ok.
➢ To attach the walls to the roof
➢ Select the wall which you want to attach
➢ In ribbon bar click on attach top or base
➢ Select the roof.
➢ To edit the path of the roof
➢ Select the roof
➢ Go to elevation from where you have done the path
➢ Click on edit profile.
3) PITCHED ROOF –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Go to architecture drop down roof
➢ Select Roof by foot print
➢ Place the boundaries of the roof as your requirement using draw tool
➢ Select spilt element from modify tools
➢ Split the roof boundary where & how much you need your pitched roof
➢ Select the boundaries line where you are going to place pitched roof & un define it
➢ Select slope arrow
➢ Place the slope arrow on the boundary of pitched roof
➢ From one end to the middle of roof & from the other end to the middle of the roof
➢ Select the slope arrow
➢ In property window drop down specify select slope

➢ Click on finish.

4) DORMER WINDOW –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Place a sloped roof using Roof by Footprint
➢ In level 2, select wall
➢ Place the wall on the big roof where & how much you need your dormer window

➢ Go to Architecture select roof by footprint


➢ Draw a small roof on the walls which you have placed.
➢ Click on finish
➢ Click on yes
➢ Go to 3D
➢ Go to front view adjust the thickness & of the small roof as your requirement
➢ Set the view such you should able to see the back side of the small roof & front side of
big roof.
➢ Go to modify, select join/unjoin roof
➢ Select back side of the big roof & front side of the big roof

DORMER OPENING –

➢ Go to architecture
➢ In opening panel, select dormer
➢ Select the big roof
➢ Go to the bottom view
➢ Select the inside portion of the walls

➢ Go to the top view, select the slope of small roof


➢ Using trim/extend to corner
➢ Trim & extend the lines

➢ Click on finish.

5) GLAZED ROOF –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Select Roof by Footprint
➢ Place the roof as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3d
➢ Go to the top view
➢ Select “Roof by footprint”
➢ Drop down selection bar, select Sloped Glazing
➢ Using draw tools draw the boundaries of the glazed roof as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Adjust the height of glazed roof( using arrow keys in the keyboard)
➢ Adjust the big roof using the grip points
➢ Add the mullions to the glazed roof

6) ROOF SOFFIT –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down roof
➢ Select roof soffit
➢ Place the roof soffit using draw tools as your requirement
➢ Click on finish
➢ Change the Go to 3d
➢ Adjust the height of soffit as your requirement
➢ To add the material & thickness of the of soffit
➢ In property window
➢ Click on edit type…

7) ROOF FASCIA/GUTTER –
➢ In 3d view, go to architecture
➢ Select Roof Fascia/gutter
➢ Select the edge of the slab where you want to add Roof Fascia/gutter
➢ For new profile for Fascia/ gutter
➢ Drop down application menu new family
➢ Select the profile as “profile”

➢ Using draw tools draw tools, draw the profile for fascia/gutter as your requirement

➢ Note – draw the profile using standard value.
➢ Save the family
➢ Click on load family
➢ To add the profile –
➢ Select the Fascia/gutter which you have already added
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required drop down profile
➢ Select the profile which you have added
➢ Add material if required apply ok

WALL SWEEP/REVEAL –
➢ Go to 3D view
➢ In 3D view, go to the view from where you are going to add wall sweep/reveal
➢ Go to Architecture drop down wall select wall sweep/reveal
➢ Select the placement of wall sweep or reveal in ribbon bar
➢ Place the wall sweep/reveal as your requirement
➢ To place the nest sweep/reveal – click on Restart wall sweep/reveal
➢ For new profile for Fascia/ gutter
➢ Drop down application menu new family
➢ Select the profile as “profile”
➢ Using draw tools draw tools, draw the profile for sweep/reveal as your requirement
➢ Note – draw the profile using standard value.
➢ Save the family
➢ Click on load family
➢ To add the profile –
➢ Select the sweep/reveal which you have already added
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required drop down profile
➢ Select the profile which you have added
➢ Add material if required apply ok

STAIRS –
1) STAIRS BY COMPONENTS –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down Stairs select Stairs by components
➢ In property window give the desired number of stairs
➢ Select the type of stairs you want to place
➢ Place the stairs as your requirement
➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To add material or to make any changes in stairs
➢ Select the stairs which you want to edit
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required
➢ Make the changes and add material as your requirement.
➢ Click on ok apply ok

RAILING –
➢ Go to floor plan level 2
➢ Go to Architecture drop down Railing
➢ Select Sketch path
➢ Using draw tools draw the boundaries of the railing as your requirement
➢ Note – Boundaries should be either closed/continues
➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To change the railing type, select the railing which you have added
➢ Drop down selection bar select the railing as your requirement

RAILING PLACE ON HOST –


➢ In 3D view
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down railing select place on host
➢ Select the position where you want to add the railing
➢ Select the Stairs where you want to add the railing

2) STAIRS BY SKETCH –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture
➢ Drop down Stairs select Stairs by sketch
➢ RUN METHOD
• Click on run
• In property window, give the desired no. of stairs
• Give the stairs width
• Place the first flight of stairs with required no. of raiser, place the second flight of
stairs as your requirement.
• Click on finish.
➢ BOUNDARY & RISER METHOD
• Click on riser
• Using the draw tools

• Select boundary
• Place the boundary of the stairs as your requirement

• click on finish
• To add material or to make the changes
• Select the stairs in property window
• click on edit type duplicate if required
• Make the changes as your requirement
• Click on apply ok

RAMP –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture select Ramp
➢ RUN METHOD
• Place the first flight of ramp with required length
• Place the second flight on ramp with required length
• Click on finish
➢ BOUNDARY & RISER METHOD
• Select boundary
• Using draw tool, draw the boundary of the ramp
• Select riser

• Place the riser of the ramp as your requirement


• Click on finish
• Go to 3D
• To add material or to change the ramp height
• Select the ramp which you have added in property window
• Click on edit type….

MODEL TEXT –
➢ In project browser
➢ Go to elevation where you want to write the text
➢ Go to Architecture select model text
➢ In workplane select the workplane as “pick a plane”
➢ Select the plane where you are placing the text (4 line indication)
➢ Write the text as your requirement
➢ Click on ok
➢ Place the text on the wall.
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To change the text style, font, size.
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required make the changes as your requirement
➢ Click on apply ok

IMPORTING AUTO CADD FILE –


➢ Go to insert
➢ Click on import cadd
➢ Select the plan which you want to import
➢ Set the importing setting
➢ Click on open

MODEL GROUP –
➢ Select the elements which you want to create group
➢ In ribbon bar in create panel select create group
➢ Give the name of the group ok
➢ To edit the group, select the group
➢ In ribbon bar click on edit group or ungroup to ungroup
➢ After editing click on finish
➢ To save the group
➢ Drop down application menu
➢ Save as library group
➢ Give the group name save
➢ To place the group in a new file
➢ Go to insert
➢ Click on load as group
➢ Go to your folder & select the group which you want to load
➢ Click on open
➢ Go to Architecture drop down Model group
➢ Click on place model group
➢ Place the group as your requirement

MATCH PROPERTY –
➢ Go to modify
➢ Select match property
➢ Select the object from which you want to take the properties
➢ Select the object which you want to add the properties

COPY PASTE
➢ COPING FIRST FLOOR PLAN TO SECOND FLOOR OR MORE THEN ONE
FLOORS
• Select the objects which you want to copy to the nest floor
• Go to modify, in clipboard panel
• Click on copy to clipboard
• Drop down paste
• Select “align to selected levels”
• Select the levels where all you want paste

ADDING ELEVATION –
➢ Go to view
➢ Drop down elevation select Elevation
➢ Place the elevation point as your requirement
➢ Set the elevation point
➢ Go to project browser & rename the view as your requirement

ROOM AREA REPORT –


➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to Architecture Select room
➢ Add the room tags in your plan for each & every room one by one

➢ Rename the room tags by single click once, single click one more time
➢ Go to Annotate
➢ Click on color fill legend
➢ Place the list anywhere outside the plan
➢ Set the space type as Room & color scheme as Name
➢ Click on ok
➢ To edit the list, select the list in ribbon bar
➢ Click on edit scheme
➢ Rename the title if required
➢ Drop down color scheme select area
➢ Change the color of tags if required
➢ Click on apply ok

EXPORTING THE REPORT –


➢ Drop down application menu
➢ export Reports room area reports
➢ Save the report in your folder by selecting the file type

TOPOSURFACE –
➢ Go to floor plan site
➢ Go to Massing & site
➢ Select Toposurface
➢ Place the toposurface around your plan as your requirement

SUB REGION –
➢ Go to floor plan level site
➢ Go to Massing & site
➢ Select sub region
➢ Using draw tool draw the boundary of sub region as your requirement
➢ Click on finish, go to 3D
➢ In property window click on “By category” and add material

SPLIT SURFACE –
➢ Go to floor plan site
➢ Go to massing & site
➢ Select spilt surface
➢ Select the toposurface which you want to spilt
➢ Draw the region how much you need to split
➢ Click on finish & add material as your requirement

MERGE SURFACE –
➢ Go to floor plan site
➢ Select merge surface
➢ Select the 1st toposurface, select the 2nd toposurface

BUILDING PAD –
➢ Go to floor plan site
➢ Select building bad
➢ Using draw tools draw the boundaries of building pad as your requirement
➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to 3D
➢ To change the thickness or to add material, property window click on edit type
➢ Duplicate if required, click on edit
➢ Change the thickness & add material as your requirement
➢ Click on apply ok

SITE COMPONENTS –
➢ Go to floor plan level site
➢ Go to massing & site
➢ Select site components
➢ In property window click on edit type
➢ Drop down family select “RPC tree deciduous”
➢ Duplicate must & necessary for every new components
➢ Click on “Render appearance” “name”
➢ Drop down class, select the components you want to place
➢ Click on ok apply ok
➢ Place the components as your requirement

CAMERA & RENDER –


CAMERA PLACING –
➢ Go to floor plan level 1
➢ Go to view
➢ Drop down 3D view
➢ Select camera
➢ Place the camera as your requirement

➢ Adjust the frame of camera as your requirement


➢ Change the visual style to realistic
➢ Note – you can adjust camera height by selecting the frame of camera
You can go to any one elevation
Adjust the height and target as your requirement
RENDER SETUP –
➢ In status bar click on show render dialogue

➢ Note – Scheme should be set same as you have set in graphical display setting
Background (sky) should be also set same as you have set in graphical display
Setting
➢ Click on RENDER
➢ After render to save the image
➢ Click on save to project give the name of the image ok
➢ Click on export save the file in your folder by giving the name of the file & save it
in
JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert group)

NIGHT MODE RENDER –


➢ Place the lights
➢ Set the camera
➢ Set the graphical display setting
➢ Set the light source

• Click on visibility graphic edit
• Drop down lighting fixture

➢ In project browser drop down walkthrough double click walkthrough1
➢ Click on edit walkthrough, change the frame as 1 of 300
➢ Adjust camera frame as your requirement
➢ To edit the camera target, select the frame,
➢ Go to floor plan level 1 or any one elevation for where you want edit
➢ Click on edit walkthrough, adjust the camera target as your requirement
➢ Go back to the camera frame
➢ Click on edit walkthrough
➢ Click on play.
➢ Saving the video

TABLE CREATION –
➢ In family column, click on new
➢ Select the Profile as Furniture

Creating table top

➢ Select extrusion
➢ Using draw tools draw the table top as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to front elevation
➢ In project browser set the Extrusion start & Extrusion end to adjust the height &
Thickness.
Creating table leg –

➢ In front elevation
➢ Go to create
➢ Select Revolve
➢ Using drawn tools draw the profile of revolve as your requirement

Axis line
➢ Select axis line
➢ Draw the axis of revolve
➢ Click on finish

Adding Material Parameter –

➢ Select the table top


➢ In property window add the material as your requirement
➢ For adding material parameter, click on Associate Family parameter
➢ Click on add parameter
➢ Give the name as “TABLE TOP MATERIAL”
➢ Click on ok
➢ Add the material & material parameter for table’s leg

Adding Dimensional Parameter –

➢ (For table top)


➢ Go to floor plan reference level
➢ Go to annotate
➢ Select radial
➢ Measure the top radius
➢ Select the measure dimension
➢ Drop down label
➢ Click on add parameters
➢ Give the name as table top radius
➢ Click on ok
➢ Do the same for the table height
ZOOMER CREATION –
➢ Click on new
➢ Select the profile as “Generic model ceiling based”

Creating zoomer head –

➢ Go to front elevation
➢ Go to create
➢ Select Revolve
➢ Using draw tools draw the revolve profile as your requirement

➢ Select axis line


➢ Draw the axis of revolve
➢ Click on finish
➢ Add the material & material parameter to zoomer head

Creating zoomers handle –

➢ Go to front elevation
➢ Go to create
➢ Select sweep
➢ Click on sketch path
➢ Using draw tools, draw the path of handle as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to floor plan reference level
➢ Click on edit profile
➢ Using draw tools, draw the profile of sweep as your requirement

➢ Click on finish
➢ Go to front elevation

➢ Add the material & material parameter for the zoomer handle as your requirement

Creating zoomer lamp –

➢ Go to create
➢ Select revolve
➢ Draw the boundaries of lamp as your requirement, using draw tools

➢ Select axis line


➢ Draw the axis of revolve as your requirement
➢ Click on finish

➢ Add the material & material parameter for zoomer lamp as your requirement

➢ Go to floor plan reference level


➢ Select the zoomers handle, light & lamp using Radial array array it
➢ Go to front view
➢ Select the whole zoomer
➢ Move it back towards the Reference level
