PROCEEDURE
1. Download required app
Download Putty from https://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/0.70/w64/putty-64bit-0.70-installer.msi and
install
• Scroll to the top and select “Session”. Input VNMS IP address (10.205.103.15) and select “SSH”
as connection type. Ensure “port” is 22. You can also save the session for easy access.
3. LOGIN TO VNMS
• Once the SSH session has been setup on Putty, run the installed version of Xming and minimize.
• Click on “Open” on putty and a command prompt page will load.
Kindly note the “Present” column which indicates the current status of RCs connected to the VNMS. A
green tick sign means the RC is currently registered on the VNMS while a blank means the connectivity
to the RC is down or lost. At this point, all services to the RC might be down
Based on the received customer outage escalation, select the RC responsible and click on “configure” to
launch the VectaStar Base Station Configuration Tool as shown below.
The BS hardware tab shows the APs (Access points) or Sector radios connected to the RC. The “present”
column shows the status of the APs and confirms connectivity to the RC. The green tick confirms
connectivity while a blank means the connectivity to the AP is down or lost. At this point, all services to
the AP might be down.
REMOTE TERMINAL(RT) OR CPE CHECKS
From the VectaStar Base Station Configuration Tool, select the “Users” tab to display all configured RTs
or CPEs on the base station. The “Registered” column shows the CPEs that are successfully registered on
the RC.
Select the customer name and click “Configure CPE” to launch the VectaStar CPE Configuration Tool as
shown below
This gives us to information as Uptime, channel bandwidth, Upload and Download channels.
Select “Interfaces” tab to show the status of the physical port at the customer end. Click on “Get” to
refresh status.
