Tewkesbury Park
The views from Tewkesbury Park creates a feeling of being right in the middle of the
Cotswolds countryside and this follows through into the reception of the hotel,
with glass sliding doors opening into Riverlake blue tones with beige and tartan soft
furnishings, crystal chandeliers and gold accessories. There’s a rack of various size
wellies in the entrance, which offers a fun element to the hotel and shows their
dedication to all, from the young to the more mature.
Tewkesbury Park hotel offers a variety of rooms and we stayed in a historic luxury
suite with sumptuous furnishings, beautiful bay windows overlooking the golf course,
a Hypnos bed, power shower and roll-top bath. The hotel also provides an evening
room turndown service, adding those ‘extra’ touches, such as a sleep spray on your
pillow, for a better night's sleep in the rolling countryside of Gloucestershire.
The dining experience is also one not to be missed, as
the menu and the food were outstanding in their
delivery, a real treat to the senses, especially taste!
The confit duck leg starter was especially delicious.
The staff throughout the hotel provide an excellent
service with expert knowledge in specialist areas.
The Spa offers an extensive range of treatments and
they’ve partnered with Natural Spa Factory of Bath
to create a rejuvenating boost from the outside
in. And finally, the wedding event spaces here are
known as the Cotswolds Suite and the Berkeley Bar.
The hotel offers exclusive use of the spaces with lots
of touches that can be individualised to make your
day just perfect. tewkesburypark.co.uk

Duisdale House Hotel

Known as the ‘Misty Isle’ in Gaelic, the Isle of Skye is filled with enough
magic and mystery to catapult you into what feels like a movie backdrop.
Duisdale House Hotel follows suit with a fairytale frontage and direct
views over Loch na Dal, creating an immediate sense of tranquillity as
you park on the driveway. Nestled in 35 acres of gardens with a helipad,
boat moorings and plans to build a waterside spa, it’s a hunting lodge
turned boutique hotel on the idyllic southern Sleat Peninsula.
On a starlit spring evening, I step into the foyer for the first time and the
flickering storm lanterns bathe me in a warm amber glow. Further down
the hallway, the open fire and grand piano in the Lounge add to the
inviting ambience. It is here where flavour-filled evenings begin, starting
with an aperitif and a slate board selection of intricate canapés. The
gracious staff then lead you through to the 2AA Rosette restaurant,
where the delectable locally sourced dishes truly speak for themselves.

Upstairs, the Bridal Suite echoes the hotel’s Highland charm,

with an artistically carved four-poster bed and a deep bathtub
complete with TEMPLESPA beauty products. I feel particularly
drawn to the bright morning light here – it would make a
perfect setting for wedding day preparations, before an outdoor
ceremony on the loch-facing lawn.
Duisdale House Hotel is part of a trio owned by The Sonas
Hotel Collection. ‘Sonas’ translates to ‘happy’, and it’s a
testament to how this stay made me feel. Showcasing genuine
hospitality and an unrivalled base for discovering the Isle of
Skye, I left feeling inspired, restored and eager to return.
