to seize the opportunity to explore God given talents.
Module #1 What is Art: Introduction and Assumption

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this lesson, you should be able to:

1. Explain the different genres and concepts of art through making of pictograph writing
including their function, value and historical significance.

Specific Learning Outcomes:

1. Discuss the definitions of arts in general including their function , value and historical
relevance through pictograph or illustrating concepts

Teacher’s Input

Discussion:

The word “ Art” comes from the ancient Latin, arts which means a “ craft or
specialized form of skill, like carpentry or surgery ( Collingwood, 1938)

Art is universal – In every country and in every generation there is always art.
Oftentimes, people feel that what is considered artistic are only those which have been made long
time ago. This is misconception. Age is not a factor in determining art. “ Art is not good
because it is old , but old because it is good” ( Caslib Jr., Dudley et al, 1st edition)

Art is not nature– One important characteristics of art is that it is not nature. Art is a man’s
expression of his reception of nature. Art is a man’s way to interpreting nature. Art is not nature.
Art is made by man. ( Caslib Jr. et al, 1st edition)

Art involves experience – For most people , art does not require a full
definition. Art is just experience. By experience , we mean the “actual doing of something”
( Dudley et al.,1960)A choreographer who cannot execute a dance step himself is a bogus.
Art is always an experience. A painter cannot claim to know how to paint if he has not tried
holding a brush. A sculptor cannot produce a work of art if a chisel is foreign to him. ( Dudley et
al., 1960)
Finally, Art is accompanied by some emotion. One either likes or dislikes , agrees or
disagrees that a work of art is beautiful.( CaslibJr.,et al 2017), thus singing, dancing, painting,
drawing are one of those art forms.

reader something to appreciate.

Write it here: Topic Chosen Art

Art, in my opinion, is about a person's ability and creativity. It's about how someone reacts
to something and how they interpret it. Art is a broad category of human activity that
involves the creation of visual, aural, or performing artifacts that express the creator's
creativity, conceptual ideas, or technical skill and are intended to be appreciated primarily
for their aesthetic value or emotional power. It has whatever meaning the artist intended,
and that meaning is shaped by the materials, processes, and forms it employs, as well as
the ideas and feelings it elicits in its audience. Art is a method of expressing one's feelings,
thoughts, and observations.

Art is a way for an artist to express and interpret thing

as well as emotional feelings.

Art is universal in that it allows us to express ourselves

in whatever way we wish. It is the most basic thing a
man can do to motivate others. Throughout history and
across cultures, the definition and perceived worth of
works of art have evolved.
Draw a pictograph or any

Art is not nature because art is a man-made artefact

Walking here with you

Seeing you and witnessing you grow,
and bloom like flowers do
And making some memories here with you makes my every
second very special

2. Social Function Write a story line or poem

And then go to the market to sell them.
We can buy it as food.

Transparent, inviting, and joyful. . .
A neighbor talks with a girl there in the evening.
Only the bees can hear what's happening across the fence.
This is the most delicate whispering of all.
Activity #3 Critiquing process

Teacher’s Input

Literature has provided key works of art. Among the most popular ones being taught in
school are the two Greek epics , the Iliad and the Odeyssey. Art has always been timeless and
universal , spanning generations and continents through and through.
In the Philippines we have plenty of Literature that can be proud of like Ibong Adarna
and Florante at Laura . On the other hand when we listen to a kundiman or perform folk dances,
we still enjoy the way our Filipino ancestors while away their time in the past. We enjoy the
characters in the movie and even relate it to our life
situation in the present.

Comprehension
Activity

Instruction: Choose at least two (2) artworks under each category that you are familiar
with then criticize each using the guide questions provided.

Categories: Movie , Poem , Novel ,Music , A piece of Clothing , An Architectural structure ,

Dance , Theater , Painting , Cooking, Flower arrangement and more.

Student’s name: Hannie Mayzel G. Babela Schedule:

Category : poem and music ( Title) .

1. What is it about ? Why do you like it most?

Poem and music is the category I've chosen. Because, in my opinion, poetry
and music are two of the most effective ways to express our feelings. We feel
loved, in love, sad, happy, or mad while we are feeling loved, in love, sad,
happy, or mad.
2. What is its style? How good is it?

Music and poetry are both concerned with blending vocal or instrumental
sounds for the purpose of beauty of form or emotional expression, usually in
accordance with cultural standards of rhythm, melody, and, in the case of
most Western music, harmony. Music, whether it's a simple folk song or a
complicated electronic piece, is the same thing. It is beneficial for me because
I can truly express my feelings through this type of art. Although we can
communicate our feelings through all of the categories described above,
poem and music are the ones that are nearest to my heart.

3. Write your Reflection about the topic that you have chosen?

I've decided to write regarding art. I can use art to express myself, such as the
way I express my emotions and how I perceive someone else's feelings. My
personality is like a work of art; it might be difficult to comprehend and
describe at times. However, one thing is certain: someone appreciates, values,
and loves it. It can be difficult for us to explain our true feelings at times, but
art, no matter how sloppy, has a significance that others can comprehend.
Let's just go with the flow in the road we're on because we're all unique and
have a purpose.
Module #2 Art Appreciation: Creativity, Imagination, and
Expression

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this lesson, you should be able to:

1. Discuss and Differentiate Art from Nature

2. Characterize artistic expression based on personal experience with
art.

Specific Learning Outcome:

1. Identify concepts through different form of arts.

Teacher’s Input

Discussion:

Art is a product of man’s creativity, imagination, and expression.

No matter how blended the colors of a sunset are and no matter how
extraordinary formed mountains are, nature is not considered art simply because it is not
made by man. An art work maybe inspired by nature or other works of art, but an artist invents
his own forms and patterns due to what he perceives as beautiful and incorporates them in
creating his masterpiece.

Perhaps not everyone can considered an artist, but surely all are spectators of arts.
In deciding what pair of shoes to buy, we carefully examine all possible choices within our
budget and purchase the one that satisfies our beauty and practical standards. We are
able to distinguish what is not and what is good quality from poor. This give us a role in the
field of art appreciation.
( Caslib Jr., et al, 2017)

Art Appreciation as a way of life

In cultivating an appreciation of art, one should exercise and develop his taste for things
that are fine and beautiful .This allows individuals to make intelligent choices and decisions
in acquiring necessities and luxuries, knowing what gives
better value for time or money while taking into consideration the aesthetics and practical
value ( Collins & Riley, 1931)

Observation, art galleries, performing arts theaters, concerts halls, or even malls that
display art exhibitions that are free in admission during leisure time will not only develop
an understanding of the art but will also serve as a rewarding experience.
( Caslib Jr., et al, 2017)

( Golden,M.,2017)

Instruction: Write a Reflection paper on Photography

Note: You can also write this in any paper

REFLECTION PAPER

This module has helped me grasp the importance of art, as

well as how to appreciate and interpret it. If we learn to
appreciate art, it will simply become art. If we don't
appreciate art, it isn't art. This lesson showed me that art is
about our entire being, not only painting. Everything is an
art; we only need to start appreciating it in order to
comprehend what it is. Expressing our feelings through
something is an art; our lives and daily life are an art;
everything is an art; we just need to start appreciating it in
order to understand what it is.

Photo appropriation process. Write it in the space provided, avoid erasures.

Title:

When I first started doing the photo appropriation, I assumed it

would be simple to replicate the artworks of different artists. Not
until I chose to recreate the painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by
Johanes Vermeer. I'm both pressured and excited to recreate his
artwork since I assumed it would be simple, but it's actually quite
difficult. While recreating the artwork, I gradually came to respect
the artist's labor and emotions. It's challenging, but I think I did a
good job at portraying it.
