    NARRATIVE REPORT ON GLOBAL HANDWASHING


    DAY CELEBRATION 2020

    Global Hand washing Day is a way to support a global and local culture of hand
    washing with soap, shine a spotlight on the state of hand washing in each country
    and raise awareness about the benefits of hand washing with soap. Since 2008,
    Global Hand washing Day has been celebrated annually in October worldwide with
    the theme “ Make Hand washing a Habit”. Hand washing must be practiced
    consistently at key times such as after using the toilet or before contact with foods. It
    emphasizes the importance of hand washing as a ritual behavior for long term
    sustainability. It encourages school children, teachers and families to get involved.
    To promote hand washing with soap, the Department of Education implemented
    the Global Hand washing Day Celebration which was enjoined and participated by all
    schools.
