It was a dark night in the city center, the man had just left his job in the factory, he

began to look around, and he realized that there was no one walking around the
city, he remembered his childhood, when he walked through the forest that
surrounds the city, accompanied by his father. Despite being a lonely and dark city,
it was a small one, nothing ever happened, everyone knew each other. Finally, the
man arrived his home, where his faithful friend, a cute brown dog, was waiting for
him. For some strange reason, the dog was extremely nervous and barked at the
door every minute. Without worrying too much, the man prepared his dinner and
fed his friend. It was already midnight, and both went to the room, the man felt
insecure, as if someone was watching him through the large window, that had a
gloomy view of the dark forest in front of their home. Both fell asleep, covered by
the dim light provided by the full moon, the man had been dreaming that he was in
the forest, all alone, accompanied by a heavy rain, he felt fear, and only hear the
barking of his dog, when suddenly the man woke up terrified, he got up from the
bed and he realized that his dog was not with him, he was scared and worried, he
looked for warm clothes, he got dressed and went out in search of his dog.

As he left his home, he heard a chilling, terrifying scream from the forest, there was
no one in the streets, he thought it was just a hunter who got his prey at night, but
then he remembered that there were no animals, only disgusting insects, and
suddenly his mind cleared up, the only person who lived there was George a lonely
and sick old man, but he had been taken to an asylum because he suffered from
senile dementia, the old man lived in an isolated cabin with his wife and son,
repeatedly the old man had tried to kill his family, so for that reason his wife took
the decision about the asylum. The man was terrified and with goosebumps
outside his house, now, he hears the barking of his dog and went into the forest,
only with a lantern.

He began to walk quickly among trees, large rocks, and shadows of people he
thought he saw. He was following his dog’s bark, when he unexpectedly found the
old man’s cabin, everything looks quiet, and he slowly approached the cabin and
looked inside through the window and to his surprise, his dog was inside the cabin
with the old man’s wife, the man relaxed, because he had found his dog, but he
could not leave his friend there, so he approached to the door of the cabin, in one
hand he had the lantern and with the other hand he tried to open the door, before
he could touch the door, it opened by itself, the man stepped inside the cabin and
heard a glass break, the man hid in a room, and could only hear “finally, face to
face, after so long”, the old man was inside the cabin, the man tried not to make
noise, but he realized that there were small photographs on the bedside table,
which corresponded to a child and a woman, the son and the wife of the old man.
Suddenly he heard a chilling scream, the man was paralyzed, and he only wanted
to go out but he could not, because his dog was inside the cabin and now, the old
man was threatening, he realized that on the bedside table there was a
screwdriver, which he took to confront the old man, decided, he left the room,
although he still felt afraid. What he found in front of his eyes left him completely
shocked, stunned, the old man was with a knife in his hands covered with blood,
he had cut off his wife’s hand, his son was in a corner crying. The man without
thinking twice, pounced on the old man and buried the screwdriver in his leg,

his facial expression, from having it a scared one to an illuminated face and, with a
smile, as if the old man found hope in Freddie. And it was the truth, the old man
thought that Freddie could help him to find his wife and sons. So, the old man sat
on the ground and start to talk with Freddie about his life in the past, the only
aspect that the old man forget was that he murdered all his family. Freddie told to
the old man about it, and suddenly the old man began to cry uncontrollably. For the
surprise of Freddie, he disappeared, and Freddie fell asleep.

When he woke up, he felt quite different, he felt as if something was missing. He
had forgotten about his dog, the old man was absorbing all the energies that
Freddie had, even he looked pale. He got up to the ground and again start the
search of his dog when abruptly, he heard a big shot, it was the old man, who had
a rifle in his hand, he wanted to kill his family. Freddie realized that he traveled to
the past, to the exact moment when the old man had the intention of murdering his
wife and sons. Without thinking so much, Freddie ran toward the old man and
stopped the intention of murder. Now, the old man dropped the rifle and fell to his
knees, he began to cry again. Freddie could not stand it anymore, so he takes the
rifle and kill the old man with a headshot, Freddie felt very relieved, and next, he
takes the body and put it into the cabin, exactly to the room that the voice had
directed in the present. He put the corpse on the bed and covered it with a blanket,
out of compassion he went outside and took some flowers to put on the old man.

When Freddie realized what he did, he felt afflicted, thinking that he would be
imprisoned for murder, like the old man, but it was not like that, he left the cabin
and went home. He lays down in his bed and began to think “what I did was good?
would it have changed anything in the future?” He fell asleep. When he woke up
his dog was sleeping next to him and everything was normal, he left his house in
direction of the cabin in the forest and met a nice family, Freddie had done it, he
had changed the sad fate of the old man.
