BIOGRAPHY

Neha Dani, an artist extraordinaire, creates timeless jewelled masterpieces, each with a deeply
embedded philosophy. Her multi-layered sculptural creations are strikingly contemporary,
drawing from her experiences, emotions and beliefs. Riveting from every angle, her oeuvre is
bold and feminine, intricately detailed with diverse inspirations emulated to perfection. With
afflatuses ranging from autumn leaves to coral reefs, Neha’s jewellery is poetic and vibrant.

Dani’s personal journey is replete with determination and passion. She grew up in a traditional
Indian family but her parents were avid travellers. Young Neha was raised exploring the world
and was exposed to art and culture across borders. A myriad of wonders left indelible impressions
on her blooming mind – from magical glaciers in Alaska to classical art in the museums of
Europe. These experiences nourished the artist in her and she travelled to California to study at
the Gemological Institute of America. A lifelong passion for gems was ignited and she went on to
become a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, returning to India to work
as a gemmologist.

Soon thereafter, she started designing unique pieces with fine gems and diamonds. Her stunning
presentation at the JCK Show in the United States was a statement of her bold and experimental
style. A much deserved “Rising Star” award at the show catapulted Neha Dani onto the centre
stage of the world of high jewellery. The global media had discovered a free-spirited young star
in Dani and she was featured in prestigious publications like Vogue, VO+, Women’s Wear Daily,
Robb Report, Forbes and The New York Times.

In 2017, Neha Dani was profiled in Juliet Weir de la Rochefoucauld’s book, “Women Jewellery
Designers”, alongside renowned names in contemporary luxury design such as Coco Chanel and
Paloma Picasso. As she continued to craft iconic pieces, recognition came from several quarters.
Her works were displayed at the prestigious PAD Paris and PAD London art fairs. The Macklowe
Gallery, one of New York’s foremost galleries, exhibited her designs and these received significant
admiration from collectors.

In another eminent appearance, Sotheby’s New York presented a selection of Neha Dani’s floral
pieces as part of the “In Bloom” exhibition in May 2019. In June, the Shrishti series was showcased
in London by Trinity House Gallery. In November, Vogue Italia and The Salon of Art & Design in
New York presented Neha Dani’s works as part of the Protagonists 2019 Exhibition.

In 2019, she was awarded the “Rising Star” Award from the Fashion Group of America in the fine
jewellery category. In 2020, Neha Dani’s work was featured in the book “Coveted” by Melanie
Grant, a comprehensive book on jewellery as an art form that features a collection of today’s most
exclusive jewellers.

exhibited at the finest art and design shows across the globe.

The luminous blue of icebergs and glaciers, sculpted by nature’s
hand as they weather and rebuild, invokes a mystical calm in
the beholder. Neha has vivid memories of their still and majestic

GLACIER
Neha found inspiration with moonstones that
mimic ice formations with their crystalline
structure and adularescence that exhibits the
blue sheen, similar to that of glacial ice. Carving
shapes out of moonstones, Neha conceptualized
the shapes and facets of the crystal, using
wax models. Highly skilled lapidary artisans
collaborated with Neha to fashion the
moonstones according to her vision.

The ice formations of the jewels of Glacier
were carved out in intricate detail in wax. Neha
worked back and forth on the wax model,
working with the lapidary artisan to re-cut
the moonstones for a perfect fit to the design
model. An intense and iterative process, it takes
several months to transform Neha’s inspiration
into jewels that are as mesmerizing as nature’s
wondrous creations.

Shrishti means “universe” in Sanskrit. To some, the universe is an
infinite, astronomical, unexplored space. To others, it’s a philosophical
concept with no strict definition, an inexhaustible source of energy that
feeds them.
Neha’s cultural roots have kindled a faith within her in a cosmic energy
that nurtures and guides us. She believes in an unseen power that
continually divines her life. Born out of this fervour is her offering of
gratitude - the Shrishti series. It imagines the ethereal beauty of nebulae
gleaming in the dark endless space. Their illuminated, ethereal forms and
curves represent the flow of positive energy that nurtures our beings.

SHRISHT I
A baroque-shaped water opal at the energy
centre of a necklace is the embodiment of distant
nebulae. Shield-cut diamonds, fixed to a fine
thread of titanium, symbolise energy and light
captured within the universe. The Vaneesha
necklace is paved with Paraiba tourmalines
from Brazil and Africa, purple sapphires from
Madagascar, tsavorite garnets from Kenya and
blue sapphires from Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
The universality of this jewel is embedded in
these gems sourced from across the globe.

Water opals, mined from Mexico, with their
mesmerizing play of colour are resonant of
the cosmic energy that transcends our soul.
The opals have an iridescence in the milky jelly
like orbs, perhaps due to the water content in
them, which convey a sense of inner calm and
balance. It’s play-of-colour fuses well with the
theme, with titanium and coloured gemstones
being the palette to articulate the depth of the
conception.

Cadence is reminiscent of the delicate rhythmic dance of corals
swaying with the underwater currents. The myriad of jewelled
colours and shapes put up a synchronized act, bringing alive

frozen in time through these sculptural contemporary forms.
“Like the aquatic plants hidden under the waves, so are our
emotions deeply personal. My designs for Cadence delve into
those depths and give form to the inner stirrings of our souls
that impart a rhythmic waltz to our lives,” describes Neha, of

The Annali Cuff captures the gentle motion
of the underwater maze of corals. White Gold
strands set with diamonds and blue rhodium
finish replicate the spiralling flora that sway

The Cadence collection explores structural
forms that give artistic expression to the

thoughtfully engineered articulation, Neha

The varied colours of coral reefs have been

my mind seem to get solved in the form of beautiful jewellery,” says Neha.
