INTRODUCTION
I. Rationale
Throwing of waste product along the canals of Barangay #10 Cabaguan, Paoay, Ilocos Norte is
observed as the population increases. Difficulties in controlling its residence on proper disposal of their
garbage has been a problem to its environment leading to a rapid increase of global warming. People often
think about human-induced climate change as something that will happen in the future, though it is actually
an ongoing process. Ecosystems and communities in the Philippines and around the world are being
impacted today. These impacts of climate change on different sectors of society are interrelated. Drought
can harm food production and human health. Flooding can lead to disease spread and damages to
ecosystems and infrastructure. Human health issues can increase mortality, impact food availability, and
limit worker productivity. Climate change impacts are seen throughout every aspect of the world we live in.
Nevertheless, we can still slow the rate and limit the amount of climate change through our
project, “Operation: Clean-up Drives Towards Community Progress”. This aims to promote a better
environment for the residents of the barangay. This project will involve the youngsters through the help of
the barangay officials and youth organization. This will encourage them to maintain the cleanliness and will
hone one’s ability to get along with others aside from helping them live in a better environment. This would
also help minimize the garbage in the canals, prevent diseases caused by improper waste disposal and
provide abundant opportunities for the residents living in the area. Such that they are the main target and
center of the project.
II. Objectives
The general purpose of this project is to keep the cleanliness and greenliness in Barangay #10
Cabaguan, Paoay, Ilocos Norte. The objectives are the following sets: (1) To promote the importance of

the benefit of the environment while discourage the burning of plastics. This project will also be a great
benefit to children. As I, together with my fellow youth, will teach them basic concepts of proper waste
disposal, personal hygiene and sanitation, lessons about nutrition and teaching good manners and right
conduct.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I. Methodology
This project will be a compose of two programs which are the “Educational Outreach Program”
and “Bayanihan Para sa Kalikasan”. The Educational Outreach Program’s target audience will be the
children with the age of four to twelve who lives within the area. As we teaches them basic concepts of
proper waste disposal, personal hygiene and sanitation, lessons about nutrition and teaching good manners
and right conduct. It will influence and inspire young people to indulge in fun and helpful activities.
Emphasizing the fun for a cause concept, the children in the said barangay will be the front runners for
awareness. They will influence their parents to stop burning plastics and to segregate. We will also teach
them the most vital part of work which is loyalty as their service commemorates to our National Hero’s
famous quotation which is “Ang Kabataan ay ang Pag-asa ng Bayan.” The second program involves the
application of the first program. Wherein, the participants (children) will clean the roads and canals with the
help of my co-members of youth organization and the barangay officials.
