The City School

Winter break (December 25th, 2020 to January 10th, 2021)

December 23rd, 2020

Dear Parents,

An invisible virus has made our world rethink its priorities, family relationships and professional work. We know
that the toll has been greater for some of ourCity School families than others and our deepest thoughts and
prayers are with you. One thing we can say is that the school community has become closer and more inter-
connected than ever before. We hope and pray that you will remain safe and well.

At The City School, we have gone an extra mile to maintain a level of normalcy in terms of your child's
education, and we are grateful for the fantastic support you have given over the last four months. Learning from
home and missing out on the social development of children in a classroom environment is never easy, but we
feel honoured that the support you have given has made the blended learning programme such a success at The
City School.

We must appreciate Microsoft and MS Teams for enabling much of our work, an outcome of which is that, among
our achievements, The City School has become an official 'Microsoft School'. In addition, we can also see from
our analytics that our new Century platform has become the best tool in aiding student progress in an enjoyable
manner. GL assessments have benchmarked our students against students internationally. Even though our
internal assessments were robust, we now have international recognition of our standards by using GL.

Our City School's Model United Nations (MUN) and Debates Society of Pakistan (DSP) debate successes are
second to none in Pakistan. We now have national representatives amongst our student body, which has brought
great credit to our students, their families, and their teachers.

Our curriculum-related 'Math Mania' and 'Spelling Bee' competitions, dramatics and entrepreneurship have
received national appreciation. There are many individual achievements, and we are so proud of what our
students have accomplished despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

We are humbled by what you have done at home to make remote learning possible and we hope that the new
year, 2021 brings with it lots of happiness and success for all our students and parents.

We look forward to restarting the academic year on Monday, January 11th 2021.

Please accept our very best wishes for the New Year.
