API SPECIFICATIONS
The API temperature classes represent a range of temperatures from minimum
ambient air temperature to the maximum temperature of fluid passing through
or contained by the equipment.
There are six material classes which specify minimum material requirements
for general or sour service shown below. API 6A/ISO 10423 equipment must
be designed, tested and marked as satisfactory for one of these material classes.
SLAB GATE
AOP slab-style gates are one-piece, solid gates which consistently deliver out-
standing sealing performance throughout a wide range of condition, bore sizes
and working pressures, including corrosive and abrasive fluid
environments. These valves meet or exceed the current required
specifications of API 6A.
The slab-style gate design provides a metal-to-metal seal in the
flow stream, and its simple straightforward design makes it easy
to maintain either a low- or high-pressure sealing situation where
particulate matter could pose a sediment problem. In addition,
the slab-style gate may be used when wireline cutting is required.

EXPANDING GATE
AOP expanding-style gates are used in the NW2™ series gate valves. This popu-
lar gate design is used in manual valves to produce a high seating force against
both the upstream and downstream seats simultaneously as the
handwheel is tightened. This force provides a tight mechanical
seal which is unaffected by line pressure fluctuations or vibration.
The expanding gate allows a positive mechanical seal across both
seats, upstream and downstream, with or without line pressure.
Expanding Gate Sealing Method
The gate assembly uses an angular gate face that is collapsed
during travel. The gate-segment assembly is smaller than the
space between the seats allowing free movement in mid-travel
position. When closed, a body stop causes any further downward
travel to force the faces of the gate assembly outward to furnish
a positive line flow seal. The continued stem movement causes
the gate to slide down at the top angles, expanding the
gate-segment outward against both seats.
When opened, a bonnet stop causes any further upward travel
to force the bottom faces to expand and seal against the seats to
isolate flow from the valve body cavity. The gate spring allows the
gate-segment to move freely and expand only in the full open or
closed position.

LTA-R ™
The LTA-R is our premier gate valve. Designed with the operator in mind, the
LTA-R utilizes a balance stem and ball screw assembly that greatly reduces
the torque required for operation. Compared to a standard non-rising stem
valve, the LTA-R is quick and efficient as it requires fewer handwheel turns to
cycle. Its field-proven design, combined with ease of use, has helped this
valve become the premier field-operated valve for large-bore/high-pressure
environments and is ideal for fracturing operations.

SGC2 ™
The high performance SGC2 gate valve is a staple in production and drilling appli-
cations. This versatile valve features a forged body, non-rising stem and slab gate
design perfect for many high-pressure applications. The one-piece gate construc-
tion helps prevent line sediment from entering the body cavity and also prevents
pressure locks when upstream pressure is reduced to zero. Its trustworthy design,
along with its reliable metal-to-metal seals, has proven to provide outstanding
sealing performance year after year.

LTA-DA ™
The LTA-DA is a double acting hydraulic actuated gate valve. It is made primarily
for fracturing related control operations, which require remote operation. The
valve is also equipped with a lower balance stem which helps ensure that the
gate will not move if operating pressure is lost. The LTA-DA is available in mul-
tiple bore sizes to accommodate a variety of actuation needs.
