SUPERVISION ENGAGEMENT FORM

The aim of this engagement form is to define the expectations and responsibilities of graduate students
pursuing a thesis based on the program and their supervisor. Questions about the suitability of any part of
this document should be directed to the administration.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. STUDENTS
Graduate students hold the primary responsibility for the completion of their degree. The exercise requires
independent learning and constant collaboration with the supervisor. The student is expected to:
• Attend regular (weekly, monthly, as required depending on time in the program and progress
achieved) group or individual student – supervisor meetings.
• Meet the regulated date line and carries out all necessary corrections given by the supervisor. Any
form of laziness or indiscipline will be sanctioned.
• Students are expected to be fully familiar with what constitute academic misconduct like plagiarism or
misrepresentation of thesis, presentations, or publications. This can lead to the withdrawal of the
student from the program.
• The students are expected to hand in the signed engagement form to the administration after every
meeting with the supervisor.
B. SUPERVISOR
The supervisor must be available for mentoring, and to provide guidance, advice and educational
opportunities to the supervisee. The supervisor is expected to:
• Organize regular (weekly, monthly, as required depending on time in the program and progress
achieved) group or individual student/supervisor meetings, and expect to arrange additional meetings
as needed.
• Provide feedback and minor editing of the student’s project.
• All date lines given by the school is to be respected by the supervisor.
• The students are expected to acquire professional skills for their future career and it is the
responsibility of the supervisor to reasonably accommodate these efforts.
• Any case of indiscipline by the student should be reported to the administration for sanctions.
• The supervisor is expected to fill and sign this form in every meeting with the supervisee(s).
