Developmental Stages in Middle and Late Adolescence

Content Standard
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the skills and task appropriate for middle and late adolescence and
preparatory to early adulthood.

Performance Standard
The learners shall be able to make a list of ways to become responsible adolescent prepared for adult life.

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to
1. Determine ways to be responsible and accountable for one’s thoughts, feelings, words and actions during the
teenage years.
2. List ways to become a responsible adolescent prepared for adult life

II. Subject Matter

Materials: projector, laptop, pictures,
Reference: Growing in Character by Alvin G. Mejorada and Natalie A. Pasa pp: 29-32

Let the students look for a partner and share about responsibility at home

B. Lesson Proper

1. Activity
Activity: Abili-Task (Ability-Task)
a. Form a group with 10 members
b. Through a panel discussion, share with the group:
1 ) new abilities that emerge during teenage years or existing abilities that you’re getting better at
2) new tasks or responsibilities that you have accepted in this period of your life
c. Consolidate the answer
d. Choose one (1) representative to share it with the whole class
2. Analysis
1. What new abilities have you seen emerging during teenage years or existing abilities that you
are getting better at?
2. How these abilities contribute to your consequent adult life?
3. What new task/ responsibilities have you accepted in this period of your life?
4. What are the aspects to be improved to become a responsible and accountable teenager?
3. Abstraction
Note: Continuation of the lesson on this part
As the abilities grow, so does the responsibilities. Given the increased independence that an
individual has as a teenager compared with that which he/she had when he/she were much younger, there
is also an increased need to be responsible and accountable for his/her thoughts, feelings, words and
action.
