1. What are paths for?

-The paths guide the users though each stage of your company processes

-They help users to stay focused on important tasks, so they can work more efficiently

2. Where are the paths used?

-On Account, contacts, leads, campaign, case, contract, opportunities, order, quote, custom
objects

3. How the sales paths can be customized?

In 2 steps:

- Setting the sales process (which stage will appear)


- Edit what appears within each stage.
4. How can files be attached into a record
- Directly in the record it will automatically give access to collaboration and visibility
5. What is the app exchange and who can use it?
- AppExchange is the Salesforce marketplace, offering thousands of solutions and services
that extend Salesforce
- To create a package and upload it to the Partner Community, you must have “Create
Packages” and “Upload Packages” permissions. To create and publish a listing, you must
have the “Manage Listings” permission.
6. What is an Org?
- A deployment of SF that has a defined set of licensed users.
- Your organization includes all of your data and applications and is separated from all other
organizations
7. What is an object in salesforce?
- Records are rows
- Columns are fields
- An object is a table of data
8. Which are the standard objects in SF?
- Account - Contact - Opportunity - User
- Campaign - Case - Lead
9. What is an account?
- Represents an individual customer account, organization or partner involved with
business. As part of standard functionality Salesforce.com provides Account objects in
Salesforce which stores all account details related your business, like Customers and
Competitors.
10. What is Person Account?
- Person accounts are used store information about individual consumers.
- Person accounts don’t have contacts. Person account acts contact. It stores first name, last
name and other details.
11. What is a contact?
- Individuals associated with your business accounts that you need to track in SF.
- Contacts are added to an account, case, contract or opportunity they can be assigned a
role that they play in that record. These roles are customizable for your Organization.
12. What is an opportunity?
- Sales deals that you want to track. The opportunities also builds your pipeline, which will
contribute to your forecast
13. What is a case?
- Description of a customer’s feedback, problem, or question. Cases are used to track and
solve your customer’s issues.
14. What is a solution?
- Detailed description of a customer issue and the resolution of that issue.

- An outbound marketing project that you want to plan, manage, and track within SF.

- A prospect or potential opportunity

- Types of data that can be stored in SF.
- Record is an specific instance of an object.

21. Difference from standard and custom fiscal year?


- Standard fiscal years follow the Gregorian calendar, but can start on the first day of any
month of the year.

- After you enable custom fiscal years, you can’t disable the feature. However, to revert to
standard fiscal years, you can define custom fiscal years that follow the same Gregorian
calendar structure as the Salesforce standard fiscal years.
- Fiscal year definitions are not automatically created. Define a custom fiscal year for each
year you do business.
- Enabling or defining custom fiscal years impacts your forecasts, reports, and quotas.
o When you define the first custom fiscal year, all existing forecasts, forecast history,
and forecast adjustments from the year’s first period forward are deleted.
Forecasts for periods before the first custom fiscal year are not deleted and can be
accessed as usual.
o When you define a new custom fiscal year, any existing forecasts, forecast history,
forecast adjustments, and quotas for the corresponding standard fiscal year are
lost.
- You can’t use fiscal period columns in opportunity, opportunity with product, or
opportunity with schedule reports.
- Opportunity list views don’t include a fiscal period column.

- Schema Builder is a tool that lets you visualize and edit your data model. It’s useful for
designing and understanding complex data models
23. What is a global action?
- Almost any page that supports actions. Use global actions to let users log call details,
create or update records, or send email, all without leaving the page they’re on. Global
create actions enable users to create object records, but the new record has no direct
relationship with other records.
