AQUACIATpower LD - LDC - LDH and ILD - ILDC - ILDH
series packaged chilled water or hot water production units are AQUACIATpower LD series
medium-capacity machines specifically designed for heating Cooling-only version without hydraulic system.
and air-conditioning applications in one office healthcare,
industries administration shopping centres and residential
sectors.
AQUACIATpower LDC - LDH series
These packaged units are specifically designed for outdoor Cooling-only version with hydraulic system (circulator pump
installation and require no special protection from adverse only or pump and buffer tank).
weather.
They use the outdoor air as the sole transfer medium, which AQUACIATpower ILD series
permits the evacuation of heat in summer or the supply of Air-to-water reversible heat pumps without hydraulic system.
thermal energy for heating in winter.
When connected to a radiant floor heating and cooling system, AQUACIATpower ILDC - ILDH series
fan coil units or an air handling unit, the ILD - ILDC - ILDH Air-to-water reversible heat pumps with hydraulic system
series of reversible AQUACIATpower units makes heating (circulator pump only or pump and buffer tank).
and air conditioning buildings extremely easy.
Each unit is delivered fully assembled, wired (control and
power), charged with refrigerant and factory tested.
Simply make the necessary electrical and hydraulic
connections, and your unit is ready to operate.

AQUACIAT POWER
SEASONAL PERFORMANCE
Most central air-conditioning systems used in the service industry in Europe use water chillers to produce cold.
Until recently, the efficiency of air conditioners in Europe was measured using a single nominal test point under full load, called
Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER). However, a unit’s efficiency depends on its operating conditions.
Analyses of installed systems show that heat load varies from season to season and that a water chiller operates primarily at
reduced capacity.
The European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ESEER) measures the seasonal efficiency of water chillers by taking into
account their efficiency under partial load using formulas created by the European certification body Eurovent.

A, B, C and D are weighting factors pertaining to a unit’s running time based on its load
The ESEER design conditions for air-cooled water chillers are as follows:
Unit load Air inlet temperature Chilled water mode Weighting factor
The efficiency under partial load is therefore essential when choosing a water chiller.
It is with this in mind that the new AQUACIATpower range was designed. In particular, the entire range uses R410A refrigerant
which, thanks to its extremely high thermodynamic performance, makes it possible to obtain much higher EER and ESEER
ratings than with R407C and as much as 25% less electricity consumption.
As its compressors are connected in parallel on the refrigeration circuit, AQUACIATpower easily and efficiently adjusts the
cooling capacity to system’s needs. The self-adjusting CONNECT control anticipates variations in load and turns on only the
number of compressors needed. The compressors operate at optimum performance, energy efficiency is extremely high all year-
round and, as a result, the system remains energy efficient for most of its life.

DEGIPAC DEFROST SYSTEM ILD-ILDC-ILDH
DEGIPAC defrost principle
115 %
This system, present as a standard feature on CIAT’s CONNECT
control system, makes it possible to defrost in a convenient way a coil
of an air/water heat pump. 110 %
Thanks to a regular examination of several reference parameters in DEGIPAC
COP gain
order to estimate the frost cover, such as the evaporating 105 %
temperature of refrigerant and the outdoor air temperature, DEGIPAC
starts the defrost only when it is really necessary, and defines the
time just necessary to a perfect defrosting of fins of the air coil 100 %
Standard
exchanger.
Compared with a traditional defrosting cycle with timer, DEGIPAC 95 %
offers an improvement of 5% thus on average of the seasonal COP
and it makes it possible to divide by 2 the number of defrosts over 90 %

The result is an increased reliability of the heat pumps as well as an
excellent optimization of the cycles frequency by privileging the cold
and wet periods.

LD (H - C) SERIES - TOTAL RECOVERY WITH A HEAT EXCHANGER
Free, additional hot water is produced at medium temperature by adding an air-cooled condenser to each circuit. The air-cooled
condenser is placed upline of the air-cooled condenser on each circuit to recover all the heat released by the unit.
This option is available on cooling-only version units only.
Water Oil BP
For heat recovery to be possible, the unit must be
operating. Compressor 1
For the same cooling capacity, the heat-recovery Water-cooled
condenser Evaporator Water
condenser provides a source of free hot water and lowers HP
the unit's electrical power consumption. BP

SOUND LEVELS
The distinguishing feature of the AQUACIATpower range is its rigorous design incorporating “noiseless” assembly techniques
which reduce vibration and noise.

Comment: A buffer tank may be installed on systems used in industrial processes that may require highly stable water
temperatures or on systems with highly fluctuating heat loads.
In the case of heat pumps, the drop in water temperature caused by defrosting must be factored into the volume of the hot water
tank.

Installation recommendations
AQUACIAT POWER
The unit must be placed on a perfectly level, fireproof surface . check the system’s water content (install a buffer
strong enough to support it once charged. water tank if necessary)
Care must be taken to keep noise generated by equipment to . flexible couplings on exchanger inlets and outlets,
a minimum. . manual flow rate control valves
Contact an acoustical engineer to determine, and mitigate, the . thermometers on each water inlet and outlet to allow
various sources of noise in the room where the unit will be all the necessary checks during start-up and

Flexible couplings must be placed over pipes (available as Important:
options).
- Pressure in the water circuits below 4 bar.
Reversible units installed in areas of snowfall or heavy frost
- Place the expansion vessel before the pump.
should be raised approx. 300 mm off the floor or ground.
- Do not place any valves on the expansion vessel.
■ Assembly of separately supplied - Make sure the water circulation pumps are placed directly at
accessories: the exchanger inlets.
A number of optional accessories may be delivered separately - Make sure the pressure of the water drawn in by the

minimum NPSH, particularly if the water circuits are open.
Always follow the instructions in the installation, operation,
commissioning and maintenance manual. - Test the water quality in accordance with the relevant
technical requirements.
■ Electrical connections - Protect the unit and hydraulic system from freezing
Always follow the instructions in the installation, operation, temperatures (such as by including a drain). If glycol is added
