MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 15-6-07 REGARDING INSTRUMENT LAYOUT AT

CO&CCP LABORATORY

 DGM (QA&TD) explained the action taken and further plan to augment the testing facilities at
CO&CCP Laboratory to meet the customer’s requirement.
 Sri T.S.Dhruw informed that air conditioning facility provided in ground floor is taking care of the
newly brought analytical instruments having delicate electronic parts. However these instruments
couldn’t be spaced properly since the first floor rooms meant for keeping analytical instruments
are not having air conditioning facility. Further he mentioned that for the new equipments that are
under procurement can only be accommodated if suitable air conditioning at instrument rooms of
first floor will be there.
 Sri Murthy suggested that these sophisticated instrument require low operating temperature
(around 20-26 OC) to takes away heat generated during processing and consequently to prolong
life of various microprocessors and electronic cards. Thus provision of proper air conditioning in
the instrument rooms will definitely make the operation trouble free and eliminate chance of
failure of vital electronic cards.
 Sri S.K.Seet explained that already the motherboard of coal analyzer TGA-601 has been replaced
due to malfunctioning and since then the equipment is being accommodated in the ground floor
instrument room.
 Sri Panday suggested that till the suitable ambiance is created the equipments accommodated at
ground floor should not be shifted out of the available A/C rooms.
 Sri Murthy suggested that it would be prudent to have minimum air conditioning facilities at the
first floor to accommodate the instrument kept in ground floor and instrument under procurement.
 Sri Sen suggested that though the entire building is supposed to have centralized air conditioning
facility, at least the instrument rooms present in both floors can be provided with air conditioning
facility.
 DGM (QA&TD) assured that ACVS Department will be requested to examine the requirement of
either a package or window air conditioning facility for the first floor. He asked Sri T.S.Dhruw to
prepare a lay out plan for the same.
